Frankly, I don't understand what Dawn Staley's game plan was.

Did South Carolina's coaches not watch enough game film? How do you let the two players on Iowa that can hurt you go off for 41 and 18 points respectively? Force the other players to beat you. At a minimum South Carolina should have taken the ball at Czinano early and often to make her a non-factor.

Iowa lost 3 times in the B1G as well as 3 times to non-conference teams. To be fair, most of those teams are better from the perimeter than the Gamecocks.

Wonder if Bludder is going to charge Dawn for the coaching clinic or if she'll comp it?

SC got burned repeatedly by an old skool pick and roll game. COY unable to adjust.

Still can't get over how Clark torched every SC defender one on one. Did not see that coming. She left Beal as if she was standing still several times. Also Cooke. That was after she abused both Fletcher and Johnson. I had no idea Clark was that quick to the hoop. In addition to her incredible 3 ball shooting, it's almost not fair.

Dawn has the best players in the country, however, doesn't no how to figure it out. She is no Pat Summitt, nor will she ever be................

B1G teams know that you have to get the ball out of Clark's hands. I am not entirely certain why Dawn Staley did not reach the same conclusion. You cannot guard her one-on-one. Have to trap, and double team to make her give up the ball.

God forbid Kellie lost a game like this and has obviously. SC got burnt at least 6 maybe 8 times on wide open layups. If UT got burnt that much the masses would have been fully out talking trash. And rightfully so. Good for Lisa and Co. They watched film and won. Give the Iowa girls credit. I still am shocked. Never would have thought Iowa would win.

82% of the offense went thru CC... I think Dawn was content to M2M her only, allow her to get her points, but wasn't going to devote an entire defensive effort against her, double/triple teams, etc. THAT was a fail.

Don’t know if you also watched her previous game vs Louisville. But beyond her range and incredible court awareness, she made ridiculous passes over & over again in that game. It was beautiful to watch. You saw some of that tonight as well.

Best all around skilled player I’ve ever seen at her position. Not just a scorer.

It’s really not both of them. It’s just Clark. You can watch it as many times as you want but stopping her is another thing all together.

She draws so much attention it’s wild. Then dishes perfectly to Czinano for an unguarded layup.

It’s interesting to see some of the takes on here re Dawn and SC when they lose.

Meanwhile, we’re sitting at home and celebrating back-to-back S16 appearances and finishing 3rd in SEC play (behind SC). Will likely be the the case again next year.

That said, in this game, I do think Dawn was out-coached big time. Caitlin Clark is unreal. Congrats to Iowa!

I see some prominent SC fans aren't here yet. Although taking a loss like that don't blame them. When UT and Pat lost to Michigan State social media wasn't around. I would have completely lost my mind and everything else if that happened tonight. Just saying. But those SC fans just got humbled real quick tonight. Just like I was when Hooker and UT got embarrassed against SC in football. LSU and Iowa will be such a treat. Zero talk of Boston and the SC dynasty.

Nope............Dont have to do better on that. Dawn has gotten the best for the last 5 years like Pat Summitt used to. Only difference is Pat used to win................

Wrong. Boston and maybe and I stress maybe a few others. If you know WCBB the “best” are spread out all over the country.. it’s not that simple. Facts @Dak1219 you sound like a young fan.
