Boston wasn’t even near the best players this year. Her numbers were down from previous years. She’s not even that great. If it weren’t for SC having other players step in, SC wouldn’t even have been undefeated. SC literally had 5 players who could’ve been stars in their own at other schools play role parts.
I would take Iowa too. Although if LSU wins this, Mulkey is amazing.
Had it not been for 2 missed free throws late by Utah, LSU wouldn’t have been there either. Let’s be real. You have to have some luck thrown in there too.Even if LSU doesn't win, Mulkey is amazing. That program hasn't been the Final Four since 2008 - same as Tennessee. They made a serious investment in women's basketball and it only took her until her SECOND season to break the drought. Meanwhile, Tennessee didn't even come close, and the wait continues...
absolutely some luck is needed and some teams make it to the preceifce and then fizzle out i heard geno when he lost to Ohio state say that everyone thinks getting far into the tournament is easy when it certainly is not..... south carolina winning 40 straight deserves a special note didnt get it done yesterday but they layed it bare for another to take the mantleHad it not been for 2 missed free throws late by Utah, LSU wouldn’t have been there either. And in 2008 if LSU would have boxed out Hornbuckle on Anosike's missed layup at the buzzer in the Final Four, Pat doesn't win her 8th title. What's your point? Should we take that banner down?
Do you mean to imply that sport forum posters should only comment on teams who finished under us? That's sort of silly.
Your last sentence says it all. After a whole season of sanctification of everything Dawn and So Car, the emperoress turedn out to have no clothes in the big game. Confirmed the long held suspicion that DS is a better assembler or talent than an in-game coach. That's going to get comment from everyone, no matter the record.
It wasn't just the inability to contain Clark, which was a given, but how throughly they got beat by "everyone else." Iowa had a far superior game plan and players who executed it to a tee. Iowa was the far better team this night.
I feel awful for Zia, a player I really like. She absolutely kept them in the game for 3 3/4 quarters, but made 2 terrible turnovers late that cost them any chance. Also give it up for Raven Johnson stepping up hitting those 3s. I was glad to see it, especially after the spicy Clark gave her that dismissive wave of non-guarding.
What a great game for WBB! I bet Sunday on ABC breaks all kinds of records.

Sure, but then we can put one back up because what if CP3 was out her freshman year with a knee injury. Which would have stopped Baylor from winning the national title that year.
Agree and Beal wasn’t effective defensively yesterday either. I was shocked, thought that would be a good head to head with her and Clark. Clark blew by her like she was standing still every time though.
Johnson did the best guarding Clark and she couldn’t stop her either. Fletcher couldn’t play at all because she absolutely couldn’t guard her.
Beal is a tough player but she really hurt them yesterday.
In general, Iowa came with a really good game plan. They were “mission focused” as coach Bluder kept saying and you could tell. Really impressed with their execution.
