Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

They decided they didn’t want to be serious about WBB at Marquette. She really had not done much at Charlotte.
It’s pretty rare for someone to get a third chance in the P5 after being fired twice. Hard to blame them for taking a swing on an unknown rather than trying to rehab a damaged goods coach. Not like that job is going to draw a big fish anyway.

Beers at Uconn would be huge for them if that happens. Geno stocking up on talent lately, looks like he wants to make another run at #12.
Got a feeling now that Tara surrendered the race for the all time wins record, that this year is it for him and he’s going all out to end on a bang. He’ll be 71 and it’s Paige’s last year.

He believes that's his job. He has accomplished it—a natty—nearly 30% of the years he's been a head coach. Ms. Staley has also done a fine job of stocking up on talent and winning natties lately.

I bet he stays around long enough to coach Strong for her 4 years, he got three of the top 11 players in the country in that class, but maybe you are right and he will depart with Paige.

She’s getting desperate. She recruited really well for a couple seasons but didn’t do enough with it. Kids aren’t trying to live in Oxford, Mississippi to have mediocre seasons.

Something about her rubs me wrong, not really sure what it is either.

Well she said all her scholarships are one year contracts so I’d be wary as a high schooler who has a coach not fully invested in me from the jump.
Or she just knows that a player just just up and leave after every season, you can never guarantee which players are going to stay or go, it’s a battle every year.

I pretty sure Geno said "a few more seasons" or something like that during the tourney. Sounded like he intends to stay around for current recruits if his health allows.
