Anyone giving TA&M any chance against Alabama in Tuscaloosa? Maybe if Zaay and Barker both are sick and don't play?
Stranger things have happened, I guess, than an upset there. But it would be a shocker, for sure!
I am not so sure about that. Uconn is the only team in the country that can match South Carolina with a similar amount of all Americans. They also have 10 and 3 of them were ranked the top player in their respective classes with Fudd, Beuckers and Strong earning that ranking.Very valid you definitely get more worn down playing an SEC schedule than a Big East schedule. The loss was a combination of losing badly 19 on the boards and one player just having an exceptional shooting day. That is basketball and means nothing as to what would happen in the next meeting.
If they can outrebound their opponent by 19 and shoot 50 percent from the three sure the game is a no contest almost anytime two teams play. I just take it as an exceptional performance by UConn in this particular game. If they go on from here on in to do that they definitely will win the title. Still doubt that they can, but certainly possible.I am not so sure about that. Uconn is the only team in the country that can match South Carolina with a similar amount of all Americans. Uconn has been waiting for an injury free Azzi Fudd for a very long time. She and Beuckers have only played 36 total games together in their time at Uconn and Sarah strong showed up big in that South Carolina game, but shes been consistent like that all season.
Neither team has an imposing post game but Uconn has a bunch of players that can shoot the leather off the ball and enough size to compete on the glass. If Uconn is just starting to gel and peak, they have to be a threat for another national title. Their offense looked like Uconn of old in that South Carolina game.
Texas A&M became a shell of a team when Coulibaly went down with injury. She was their scoring option putting up a third of their points. They were not going to win in Tuscaloosa anyway if she were healthy, but it wouldn't have been such an enormous massacre that it turned out to be.Zaay's going to want soooooo much to lead her team to a win on her old court Thursday. Even though she was always gracious about her experience, and never (as far as I know) has publicly badmouthed Tennessee, of COURSE she'd want her and her teammates to hand us an "L".
A big part of me won't mind if she has a good game -- as long as it's in a LOSS.
Who wouldn't take a single loss after 71 wins at home or 57 straight SEC victories? Two national championships in the last three years is no big deal right? Thanks for the message that Dawn needs better X's and O's coaching. With the chickens getting boat-raced yesterday, we have to look elsewhere for a foregone conclusion. Maybe there won't be one until the last minute? It is a long season but championship contenders don't get humiliated on their home floor. To say yesterdays events are self-inflicted is disingenuous. There were chicken feathers all over the place. They didn't pull them out on their own.
Geno was totally in his element and Dawn was not. Dawn needs better X's and O's coaching because, to me, they freelance like Holly Ball but with better talent.
