They need a scorer at the 3. If Rivers can come become a reliable scoring threat at the 3 without giving up any of Beal's defensive intensity, then I can see her playing major minutes. Not sure I agree with Johnson. A trio of sub-5'9 players at the 1-3 will create too many defensive/rebounding mismatches. I can see Raven as a solid 15 mpg player as the backup PG and some SG.

And next if Watkins is the secret commit and is as good as advertised...

If Dawn keeps this squad together without anyone leaving itll be impressive.

Will also hinge on the ability of Raven, Cooper and Russell being able to take over Henderson's duties at PG as effectively.

Beyond that, they have the potential to be even better next year with this year's freshman class being more experienced and with the depth that they have. They might not even need Watkins to make a huge impact next year.

Remember when the same thing was said about SC when Ty Harris and Herragan left? If you don't go back and look at some of the past posts on Volnation.

Anyways again, i don't need to be convinced how good SC is or could be. Just because i'm not over here drooling doesn't mean i can't appreciate them for what they are. Still doesn't take away the fact Dawn has some managing to do even when some of the seniors graduate this year. Then Cooper coming in... Someone isn't going to be happy it's all in how she manages it. Great problem to have i'm sure 👍🏽

Now for the record i'm hopping off the SC love fest😂 Not jealous, don't wanna be a SC fan, just gonna enjoy this season first and wait for the next...

You are right, Johnson will be limited to backing up Henderson or Cook mostly. Rivers has a broken nose, hence the face mask. She will be fine.

I will give Dawn credit with what she has done with Amihere. I remember Amihere confident was shot after she blew out her knee in HS and was scared to trust her knee at SC in her Freshmen year. Remember she could not even make a layup her freshmen year miss so many. She was gonna transfer but had a talk Dawn and Dawn told her to stop thinking about what some are saying about your game and trust your knee it will help rebuild your confident.

Let`s also remember NC State played with out one of there go to player`s 6-2 Jada Boyd tore tendon in her hand She’s out for a couple of months. Once they get her back they will be a hand full for any team.
