Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Paris Clark had verbally committed to UCLA, but hasn't yet signed, according to Raoul....

Wonder if Buenavida and Clark have decided to play elsewhere?

I think AZ is gonna be good again, tough defense. PAC and B10 are going to field a bunch of nice teams, ACC might be a step slow this season, hard to tell yet. B12 I bet is down. UConn on paper to me is the best, but that’s on paper.

The SEC can go either way still, I think there are 4-5 tourney teams for sure, the rest I don’t know about yet.

With all the 5th-6th year players, many teams this year have a common thread, they return much of their production. That includes a bunch of mid majors, and some of those mid major teams have really experienced rosters now, upsets will be a theme. First time for many of the younger players to be in front of big crowds, that can be a factor.

Probably a lot of surprises ahead for all of us.

To answer the question on Zaay Green she is at Arkansas Pine Bluff and has to sit out this season because she had already transferred once. She will be eligible to play in 2022-2023

Would think she would still be listed on the roster even if not eligible this season?

Maybe needs to catch up academically a year as well. It’s tough to keep credits straight when you transfer multiple times.

Watched their game last night and they are going to be very tough. They’re committed to defense and want to win. The have a good mix of veteran players and transfers. Copeland gives them a scoring post presence they were missing. Reese looked good shooting the 3, if she does that consistently it really stretches the floor for the them. I was also really impressed with her defense, both her and Lauren Ware play really good on ball defense for bigs.

Sam Thomas has a really high motor and she’s the heart of their team this season. Going to be more of a team effort without McDonald this season but they have the talent to spread it around.

May be academics or coaches decision not to list an ineligible player on the active roster. They sure could've used her this season think they lost by something like 60 the other day.

Looking forward to seeing Arkansas play UConn. I don't give them much of a chance, but they have a lot of upside. They will be really good by the middle of conference play.

That conference is awesome going to be some real battles and someone that has a very good team is going to have a lot of conference losses. Best conference in the country by far. Stanford, Oregon, Arizona, Oregon State, UCLA and couple others all have terrific teams this season. Going to be fun to watch how everyone comes out of that tough conference.

They do have a ton of players too. I didn’t count but they may have the max they can list on there. Just looked like a lot on the box score

I’m excited to watch! There are some really talented shooters/players in the PAC-12. I truly believe Stanford will repeat, they just have so many options and an excellent coach.

I’m curious to see how Oregon State is this season, they have been a little up and down the last few years. Don’t know much about them yet.

UCLA has the injury bug really bad again this season. Losing Conti was big for them, she an excellent player and would have played a big role.

Washington State could be pretty tough again, they were really pretty good last season.

We could use another guard with great handles like Clark. Was TN ever recruiting her or maybe Coach Joy?
She still follows Samantha Williams and Tennessee basketball on twitter so we had some contact with her for sure before she committed to UCLA. If she is not going there I hope we try to get her here would be a great and much needed addition to that class.
