The ratings are certainly taking a hit in the last few years. These people that make these lists do not have the time or interest in evaluating all these players. We'll keep seeing a lot of freshmen better than their ranking or not even on the list.Stars are overrated coaches need to start doing their homework
I think NFOY is almost inherently geared towards players that have a chance to play starter type minutes on their team. I don't think that's anything unusual, and one of the reasons that I picked Jersey Wolfenbarger at the start of the season: NOT that she was the best player in her class, but because she'd pretty much be walking into a starting role on a team that needed a scoring leader. I just seriously overestimated her abilities lol.I mean teams where they are not having to compete for minutes.
All of the players listed are only listed based on their current offensive stats. They only have the current stats they have because their teams have no other option so they are getting a lot of minutes. Think Ducharme would be on there if Bueckers, Fudd and Griffin were out?
They never account for other factors either. I truly believe Miles is a top 10 freshman in the nation for the defensive contributions she has made to the #1 FG% defense in the country.
She almost always has one of the best +\- on the team but often doesn’t even score a point.
We'll see how Ducharme does next week with Brea Beal wrapped around her like a life-jacket. My prediction: she won't do well.Everytime Creme does something he seems to totally ignore the SEC. All his list seem to short change the SEC. I'm not arguing that any of the players are not good players. I would just like to see their stats if they were being guarded by SEC players every game.

If she wasn't shooting 38 percent she might also be a candidate for the list. She's had to play against some very tough competition Key, Boston, others would be doing a lot more in a different conference.I think NFOY is almost inherently geared towards players that have a chance to play starter type minutes on their team. Yeah, can't argue that. I don't know enough about Aneesha, but certainly the others aren't on the level of a Boston, Chennedy Carter, Bueckers, etc.My point is still that these players are not having to compete for their minutes.
If Rae and Horston were out I’d bet you about anything Sarah would be averaging 14 and 7.
If you look back at previous winners most are like Bueckers who came into a stacked team but won minutes with their play. Most of the ladies in Cream puff’s top 10 are getting starter minutes by default. Either due to significant injuries to their teammates or significant transfer after last season.

Totally agree she has played the best of any freshmen. A couple others are way up there then it gets really close for like 15 players. Only argument I have with the list is no SEC players in the top ten not one. That seems ridiculous to me. Even if not Puckett Iyana at Vandy has stats better than several on the list.I think Morrow is the best on the list and the most deservedly placed there. A couple of the DePaul forwards have had injury issues which has allowed her more time/shots likely.
Jorie Allen in particular would probably have cut into her production. Tough transfer from Indiana who only played 2 games this season.
Olivia Miles nor Talia von Oelhoffen (TvO) aren't eligible for freshman honors in their own conference. Miles played in 6 games last season and TvO played in 13 games and was a PAC-12 freshman honorable mention. They shouldn't even be on that list. I wonder does Creme even know that that those two aren't eligible for freshman honors in their own conference.

Your defense of her means that you aren't going to have any problems with her winning NFOY awards over Ducharme? I just rememberMiles is a freshman, no matter how you classify her.
And I believe she is eligible for the national awards.
It's his list of the best freshman, eligible for conference awards or not.
Why would I have a problem with that?Your defense of her means that you aren't going to have any problems with her winning NFOY awards over Ducharme? I just remember
that Poffenbarger enrolled early just like Miles and TvO did.. She would've been eligible for NFOY awards had she had stayed at UConn was healthy and was performing like Ducharme is.
It wouldn't be fair to Miles if she wasn't able to win NFOY. She had no chance to win it last year only playing 6 games. She is playing this year and has 3 more years of eligibility. She's a freshman. I say go for it.Your defense of her means that you aren't going to have any problems with her winning NFOY awards over Ducharme? I just remember

Well... this will shake up the draft a little bit means 22' draft got a little deeper
That's interesting. She'll go high, which is no surprise. She was projected to be one of the best players in her class as a high school player. Seems the trend of players leaving after 3 years continues: Megan Walker, Charli Collier...probably others.
