As someone who has seen every Titan game since the team moved as the Oilers I can tell you Chow is not just a fall guy. Our offense has been ineffective in almost all phases and not all of that is due to Vince Young. His playcalling has also been very suspect. I think it's another example of a college guy not being able to hang in the pros.

His red zone playcalling has to be some of the worst I have seen.

Wow! I didn't see that one coming. I wonder if he would like a nice position as tight ends position coach? :)

As I stated in the thread on the NFL board, I wonder if we could interest him in a job as a tight ends position coach. :whistling:

The Titans defense was amazing. Definitely top 5 in the league. They had no offense what-so-ever, otherwise they could have made some noise in the playoffs. Reminds me of Tennessee in 2005.

Maybe its just me but is anyone overly impressed with Vince? Maybe this is a move that will help him or maybe this is why he looked average or below average in most games this season. Just not a big fan.

wonder where he'll end up? BAma may need an OC, several NFL teams will be creating new staffs....Baltimore, Miami, Dallas, Washington, Atlanta.....possibly Indy and Seattle......

he'll land somewhere i'm sure.

He's been in the running for about 200 head coaching positions, the Titans staff probably are tired of it, if this story is indeed true

It usually takes NFL QB's 3-5 years to fully develop. VY may end up being a complete bust, but IMO it's to early to make a fair judgement.

I fail to see what you were actually asking.

Norm Chow?

Norm Chow left USC on bad terms with Pete Carroll.

He won't land at UAT. If he can't get along with Carroll, he'd probably end up going 15 rounds with Nick Saban.

Fisher is scapegoating him. The reason the Oilers' offense sucked is that they didn't have much talent around an inexperienced quarterback. Fisher should be falling on his knees and thanking God that he lucked into the playoffs with that team, not firing coaches.

104.5 speculated that Norm Chow might be UCLA's new OC under Rick Neuheisel. I think Vince Young needs to grow a pair and quit whinning like a baby all the time. I think he had something to do with Chow leaving. I know the Offense stinks at Tennessee but they don't have anyone. Their receivers are mediocre at best, their QB is a brat and their OL had a lot of injuries. He took over in McNair's last year and had Vince as a rookie and Vince this season so I wouldn't blame Chow for the Titans Offensive problems alone.

I just can't sit here and blame the Titans inability to score all on Norm Chow. I don't recall seeing him on the field, throwing passes, interceptions, fumbling the ball, etc. To borrow a line from Barney Fife "Inept I tell, inept".

Finally. Took forever for this to happen.

I don't want a coach who interviews for 2-3 different coaching position every off-season. Not to mention his horrible offense.
