The best example of a summit would be Reagan and Gorbachev. Both came to the table willingly and with the mindset that the wanted an agreement. The Kims have never wanted an agreement. They want to be equals and they want to turn their attention into money they can put in their own pockets.

Perhaps you would be better served using more than an opinion piece from the Washington Post as the foundation for your own. Notice I said opinions and not facts.

People believe what they want to believe and when your referenced opinion piece cites the Paris Climate Accord, TTP and the Iran Nuke Deal as examples, well. . . as already posted "weak sauce."

Maybe if Europe was so concerned with Russia's aggressive nature, Germany wouldn't be so hell bent on developing a pipeline for natural gas supply from them. Now that one doesn't make much sense if it means they become energy dependent on a country they have developed treaties to protect against and depend on the USA to fund their defense all the while short changing their own so they can afford socialistic health care and other programs and then compete economically with us.

Trump tried a different approach than his predecessors but ended with the same results. The biggest difference between them is Trump did try to bribe them at the onset with aid or removing sanctions and you still criticize him. So what’s left in the tool box, what do you suggest he do? Start a war?

And we got hostages returned to us along with the remains of our military from the Korean War, and the dangerous missile launches stopped. Trump did a pretty darn good job considering no concessions were given.

If Kim gets back to the dangerous provocations then we don’t have many options left. It will eventually lead to a war if this can’t be peacefully resolved.
