Third down play, Purdue makes a stop and will get the ball back down 4. Well after rhe whistle, Purdue DT slings RB to the ground. Personal foul gives NW a first down, and they run the clock out.
I’d still prefer some experience to none in most cases but of course it depends on the people. I think if Scott Frost really loved UT and wanted to come here the fan base would’ve preferred him over Pruitt. I do agree that with a small sample size I wouldn’t say you are talking a huge gap but all coordinators are 50/50 because you have nothing. Coordinators turned coaches for 1 year maybe go up or down around 5% and 2 years maybe around 10% but still a crap shoot. The problem is we just chose the wrong people. The only “big” up and comer was Kiffin and he wasn’t as big then as when he left Bama. He was just a perfect storm as no one thought Carroll would be gone from USC so quickly. Maybe he would’ve worked out but his history at USC suggests not. Dooley was the worst hire in the history of 1A football as there was absolutely nothing on his resume to suggest he could do the job other than his last name. Butch had 6 seasons as a head coach with mild success so really we knew what he was. I know a lot of people will say they wanted Pruitt all along at this point but I still say if Nebraska was set for a long time and Frost said he wanted to come here he would’ve been the top choice for most. He’s no guarantee either. This is why an up and comer with "head coaching experience" is overrated, too small of a sample size to say they are any better than a coordinator.
I was watching and thought....bullcrap that is not a foul....watching on replay I still think it is a ticky-tack call
