Bennett Warren needs to worry about moving ahead of Jesse Perry on the depth chart before he worries about David Sanders. Recruiting stars and profiles don't mean squat once the players step foot on campus.

We’ve got enough talent at RT that Perry might be able to move inside at some point, although I’m not sure if he’d be willing do that. Sure would be nice if Warren, Sanders, and/or J. Heard forced the issue though.

Don’t care if it happens or not, but I kind of hope we take two OL in the portal and push this kid to RT.

Was he a better OT or G?

I mean, they both played in 4 games this year, just my opinion Warren has more talent. Either way, Perry Warren or J Heard are here now. Maybe Sanders makes a run at starting somewhere on the line, but personally i just don’t like the idea of a freshman who currently weighs 280 pounds being inserted into the lineup just because he’s supposed to be the second coming. Wanya and Darnell had as much hype and they took 2+ years to develop.

Not really concerned about RT. Im just glad we have enough competition there to get the best possible guy to protect Nico. If Thompson could hop on board and replace Spraggins we’d be cookin with bacon grease.

He doesn’t really have OT length. His build is more of a Guard. I think we’re set at Tackle and the staff’s lack of interest in any OTs reflects that. We need to develop and play the recruited guys. Between Perry, Sanders, LJ3, and J Heard, we should have a solid starter and solid depth.

That is to say, this get will almost certainly play Guard if we get him.

Was just curious because his profile says 300.

Didn’t know if that was small for a guard or if he could hold up during the whole season.

But I looked and noticed that Karic is only like 12 pounds heavier.

Fair point. I thought Karic looked a little light in 2023, but put on some weight this year. This staff does like linemen who are slightly lighter though.

If this kid comes here, will he be the first 1 and done transfer we picked up since Heupel?

I was actually thinking about this yesterday. We’ve had a few. Charlie Campbell the kicker was one. McCallan Castles. I think Jeudy-Lally. Pili would have been had he not been granted another year.

It’s definitely not the norm though. This staff seems to like to get guys with two or more years of eligibility remaining out of the portal.
