And if you're saying someone grew up in South Carolina, never visited Knoxville, and was a UT fan, then YES that would be a bandwagon fan.

A couple of points of contention here:

A. How do you know what anyone has achieved or accomplished on an anonymous message board?

B. If you are touting not being a "bandwagon fan" of Duke you may want to cite an earlier example than the late 80s when Duke was already consistently going to final fours.

C. Congratulations on your awesome accomplishments. That being said, it bears no more merit or credibility when you give resumes on a message board when there is really no way of knowing if you are even telling the truth.

That's the funny part. All of you Duke homers think the way refs call for you're idiot team is the way basketball should be played. Thus me and others even questioning if you have ever played on a competitive level.

Tennessee outplayed Duke, outhustled them, and then got rewarded with ticky tack phantom foul calls to make sure college basketball's love child didn't get popped in the 1st round of their favorite preseason tournament. There is a reason they never replayed a lot of the 2nd half foul calls.

Personally, men's basketball being successful is a bonus. I like the fact that regardless of where we are currently in football we boast 6 National Titles, 9th all time in wins, and have the 2nd most historic football team in the SEC, the toughest conference in football.

Furthermore, I love the fact the reason I cheer for the Vols due to me growing up a Vol fan and not arbitrarly picking a winner and lying about my background to people I will never meet in person. Bandwagon fans suck. They can never be trusted to stick with you in any area of life.

First I can guarantee I have played more competitive hard nosed AAU basketball than your fat sit at home self loathing butt. Second not sure if you watched the game but Duke does not get outhustled, those pretty boys play their tales off.

Second off, Ive never talked bad about football, cause personally you all piss me off even more bashing the football team with the fire Dooley crap and stuff. Tennessee is a great football school and I have been in attendance for more games than I can remember, as I am a Tennessee graduate. I would love for Martin to turn the program around and start bringing in a better class of basketball player, and being under the wing of Gene Keady I am sure we wont see any more Ramar Smiths running the team. I simply will never pull for Tennessee over Duke. I have watched them for 20+ years with my papaw and you can call that bandwagon all day Oakland Raiders, where is your connection there.

Then go root for Duke football and quit being a fair weather fan because I gurantee you I don't consider you a Vol. Nobody wants you wearing the orange in fall then changing to Duke blue come December.

For the life of me I can't comprehend how some morons actually root for one team in football, wearing the colors, singing the fight songs, but come basketball season they bash the same fight songs and colors.

So let me get this straight. You're a UT fan in football, graduated there, been to all these games. But are a Duke fan bc your grandpa or someone got a degree there and yall watched the games together etc. Then why dont you cheer for Duke in Football too? Oh i know why bc they suck. And you chose to cheer for us in football over them bc were a better football program. So you choose to root for the team with the better program in each sport. Not bandwagon at all :crazy:

I hate Roy Williams. That said, he is an excellent college basketball coach. He builds the classes that he rides, and he does this almost every single year.

I guess the most simple way I can say what I mean is this. Given the SAME exact roster to work with, there are about 10-12 coaches I would rank above Roy Williams.

Are you trying to limit the scope of a college basketball coach's duties simply to in-game coaching ability? If that is the case, then there are plenty of coaches, in my opinion, that could take Calipari's talent, year in and year out, and win championships; yet, no other coach recruits as well as Calipari. He rides the talent that he recruits.

That said, Williams has taken talented teams and won multiple national championships. If not for piss poor shooting from the foul line for two players who shot around 90% from the stripe for their careers (Heinrich and Collison), then Williams has a national title with yet another team.

Stupid comparison. The Titans have barely been in Tennessee for ten years. A lot of people had a different pro team long before the Titans ever moved. Pretty sure Tennessee has had a basketball team a little bit longer. It's just easier to be a Duke fan when they started winning big though. Just own up to it.
