Not physical enough

We have a lot more talent then we are given credit for. Unfortunately much of that talent has been raised by prior coaching to have a glass jaw, a few good pops and down they go. Back in the 80's we were not always very good either, but Tennessee had a reputation as being a dangerous 4th quarter team that did not give up. This team plays like that guy that squirts a few after getting smacked....We were far out of our league talent wise perhaps.....but this rolling over is just something I never thought I would have seen at TN, and now it's been here for 4-5 years. Just give us four quarters of effort.........is that so much to ask for a free college education?

That is the best way to describe our play this past weekend. I understand OR had a lot more speed. Although like I stated before speed goes away with a couple physical hits. We played scared on D. Our DB's were playing way to far off the ball so they didn't get beat. Well guess what you still got beat. Your best bet with a team with that speed is to hit them in the mouth. We had 0 pressure on the QB. I am done with the bend not break mentality. I am ready to see us put some pressure on a QB and blow some WR's up on the line.

Sad that you do not realize our defensive players are not good enough to do that. Maybe in a year or two they can.

This thread, and many other posts leading up to the game reveal in this fanbase a real lack of respect for the quality of the lines Oregon is fielding this year. You were bigger, by a small margin, but not better. Oregon has a very good DL this year, and held its own (even without Arik Armstead for much of the game) against those future NFLers on your line, and similarly Oregon's talented OL was for the most part able to give Marcus a pocket - though the run blocking was less effective. (And yes, I realize you would have benefited from having Couch.)

Actually you are totally wrong. I said all along that the game doesn't set up well for us. I think we could have kept the game closer though if they play more physical with the recievers. I am not so sure that anyone this year is going to stop OR unless they stop themselves. So dont take my post/thread as that I am bashing OR.

Either way its FL week and I hope like h*ll UT can recover and lick their wounds and play with the gators.

I think that it is funny that a fan of the number two ranked team in the nation is complaining about lack of respect. You guys won. Congrats. Let's both get on with our respective seasons.

I'll be glad when the stink of this loss is behind us and Oregon is finished patting themselves on the back for "beating the SEC". They beat a UT squad that is in the early phases of rebuilding after being destroyed by numbskulls for the past 4+ years. When it sinks in to everyone, the Oregon fans won't post here anymore and we can all move on.

The "hitting in the mouth" part could have been done with our Offense. We could have dictated that part.

Unfortunately, on defense , that was not much of an option.
