Notre Dame definitely has not looked like the #2 team in the nation this season. However, with the structure of the BCS eliminating a 3rd team from one conference, it is tough to say that Notre Dame is not one of the Top 10 BCS eligible teams. Sure, Notre Dame has two blowout losses, to teams that are seperated by .024 points from each other as the BCS #2. Who is to say that Arkansas wouldn't lose by 25 to Michigan? They lost by 36 to USC.I see what you are trying to say, that you think ND can beat FL but your basing it on conjecture. My point is they haven't done enough to deserve to play in a BCS Bowl game.
The BCS rule needs to be changed that only allows 2 teams from one conference. It should be the best 12 teams regardless of conference.
This is an interesting statement, simply because of what lies on the other side of this argument.Auburn has beaten 2 teams in the current top 10, Florida and LSU. ND has beaten no one but lost 2 and you expect anyone to believe ND is better then Auburn?
