Now I know how Bama Felt

I hope we face UGA again. I know we are a much better team than we showed Saturday and we had the house stacked against us. UGA pushed to 3, UT to number 1, Media all picking UT, Kirk Herbstreit picking us, poking the fan base isn't loud, the cards were stacked against us. Maybe we came into the game too cocky as did the coaches but the kids never gave up. I think if we play UGA again it's a different outcome and my orange shades are off but we are a better team than we showed Saturday.
Go Longhorns.... never thought I'd ever say that. Just threw up in my mouth a little.

The Fat Lady hasn't sang yet! GBO!!!!!!!
If the Vols are fortunate enough to make the playoffs and they face UGA again in the first round. I have no doubt it will be more interesting. Keep in mind Smart and Muschamp had been preparing for two teams basically since last spring. Tennessee and Oregon. Smart even said after the game they worked on Tennessee during their open date. Give Heupel a month to prepare for Georgia. Not saying we will win but there will definitely be new wrinkles in the offense to slow their pass rush. It was obvious last Saturday the running backs didn’t do a lot in pass protection. He might use Fant more in the backfield to help with that. Personally I don’t want to see Georgia in Atlanta but rather in Los Angeles. Regardless of when we play them Heupel will have some new plays for Georgia if there’s a next time.

I don't disagree with this at all. It was clearly advantageous to Georgia and we all know how things played out. The punt certainly limited Tennessee's options. "Stole a possession" suggests Georgia took a possession from Tennessee.
I considered the phrase to be more about stole a possession from the game clock rather than stole a possession from either team. Better field position means more offensive plays available. That means running more clock even if UGA shut down the drive after moving the ball somewhat. Also, punting and flipping the field could have made the effort to strike quickly more challenging. Although, to be fair, UGA wasn't having any issues striking quickly.

I want to give him all the credit in the world for the punt. I won't suggest his great punt "stole" a possession from Tennessee - because it didn't.
If anything, it really stole a possession from GA. I’m not 100% on the rule (NFL vs College), but with TN not advancing the entire ball out of the end zone, should have resulted in a safety, then punt to GA. Seemed pretty clear on replay.

I agree. I think that call was missed. Either it was an incomplete forward pass which is a lost down but back to LOS. Or, it was a fumble recovered by the OL and not advanced out of end zone. I think is was a safety, too.

Defender had his hand against Hendon’s shoulder and the ball came out as Hendon was flicking his wrist forward against that shoulder pressure.

As a long time Raiders fan I’m going to say it was an incomplete pass, at least that’s the call that I’ve been told is the correct one for years. 🤪

Offensive playbook shrinks, defenses opens up to more aggressive play style. Special teams stacked the deck in other words for Georgia to win that defensive series.

From the title, I assumed this thread would be about screwing your cousin and losing teeth.

As a Tennessee fan I was glad it was ruled not a safety BUT it was absolutely a safety. I would love to know how they didn’t determine that was a safety. Seems like some replay official’s standard of irrefutable proof is higher than others apparently.
