Sarcasm my friend sarcasm. I know exactly what the cost have been and continue to be in order to complete this ongoing mission. Do I need to show you my VFW membership card?

You don't. However, I would like you to offer your answers to the questions I posed.

I would also like to insert a further question:

If the mission is kill all of them (the terrorists, I presume), do we stay until there are absolutely none left? Do we stay until there is only one left? Two? Five? Ten?

When is this mission accomplished?

Sarcasm......started with my first post to the thread......"wanna fight about it". Thought that would give it away but I guess not.

I'm just going to say that I'm a fan of a benevolent hegemony and Wilson with a gun. You can infer from that.

I am dense. So, please clearly answer the following question:

Now that bin Laden is dead, is it time to pull out of Afghanistan?

Come on man, BearCat is good people, he was just being a smartass. It's really no different than 85% of this subforum on a daily basis. Keep fishing though, he might give you an answer sometime. :)

Just like I always tried to do with all the women I have graced with my love makin', we need to pull out. We have way overstayed our welcome there and can anyone really tell me what the actual mission is now?

I have to laugh a little bit longer about the Pred's loss then I can do it.

This was the first Preds game I have actually sit down and watched the majority of, in a LONG time. I try to get into hockey, but I just can't do it. That said, they played well, but just seem to get into trouble moving the puck on a consistent basis.

Killing or capturing Bin Laden.

It depends on how hell bent we are on hunting people rumored to be there. I tend to agree that being there and killing Taliban serves to breed more Taliban.

The "nation" is a civil war waiting to happen, and will be for the forseeable future. Now I'm simply rambling off ricochet thoughts.

But all in all, I can't see any individual target, or a collection of such, being worth the cost in manpower, money, and material to keep the mission going as constituted.

Did anyone just see the "Frontline" special on the Taliban? We are only dealing with a few hundred clowns on dirt bikes. We need to shut down major ops and leave the mop up duty to drones and special forces

Mop up duty is for wankers, not special forces my friend.

Much like many teenagers experimenting with sex have learned, the withdrawal method is not always reliable. You need a buffer.

I'm honestly torn. We have brought a lot to that country, and it still needs a ton of work.

That said, though, we aren't going to change generations of tribal rule and a fractured sense of unity with irrigation canals and electricity.
