Has it sunk in just how bad he was in virtually all aspects of his job?

Game day
staff relations
fan relations
recruiting
recruiting relationships with high school coaches
Media
handling transfers
establishing rapport with former letterman

Just god awful

there was no reason we could not have one 8-9 games this year.

you people need to stop it.

Dooley is gone and there is no reason what so ever to continue to berate him, none at all. to continue to do so shows a compete lack of integrity and class on your part.

Dooley took a job that no one else seemed to want and while he was here he did his best and he represented Tennessee well, and he was all vol. if he didnt have the success you all wanted you cant say he didn't try his best.

so let it go and move on, enough is enough.

as for the OP, hows, those tantrums your coach has coming along ? he getting therapy yet ?

I want to talk about Dooley about as much as I want to talk about Kiffen, Pearl, or Fulmer. It's over. Let it go.

i get aggravated about the CLK things
but disagree if we want to bash the DD era, thanks to the extended offseason for us then why not?
Lets face it for all us on here no matter what generation we are that was the worst 3 seasons of UT fball we have ever seen.

while he was here he did his best and he represented Tennessee well, and he was all vol.

What the hell does that mean? Is there such a thing as "partial" Vol? 33% Vol? 29% vol?

The man was making huge money. I would expect anyone making the kind of money to always give their "all."

As glad as I am that Dooley is gone, I can at last acknowledge some of the positives he brought to UT...

1.) Implemented the VFL program.

2.). Finally got the shade of orange right on our unis.

3 .). Had a lot of input on the design of the training facility.

4.). Cleaned up the program. Fewer thugs and serious off the field incidents.

That's about all I got.

Recruiting? Considering where this roster is to where the roster he inherited was... you can't really include recruiting.

His rankings compare reasonably well to Fulmer's over time. But his recruits have had less attrition.

He couldn't get it done on gameday. The rest is just fluff.

His recruiting was trending down every year. Fulmer's Vols put more people in the NFL than any program other than FSU and Miami while he was our coach. Dooley's best class was the one where we barred the doors on the EE's after Kiffin left.

We have one of these threads after every change-now that (fill in blank) is gone, it's obvious how much better (fill in blank) is. Brighter days ahead!!!

Butch's press conference alone overshadowed his entire UT career. To be honest I didn't expect much out of a guy that I had to Wikipedia though.
