When I was in high school eons ago we had a running back who was 5’6” and weighed 190. Impossible to tackle unless you went really low.

This kids film is impressive.

I'm curious how this kid would do on the camp circut. If he's got the talent and can play, the offers will come. If not, then he'll have to look to walk on or play at a lower level.

From what it looks like to me on tape, you have a kid who's incredibly strong playing at a very low level of competition. And there are clear deficiencies in his game. No real acceleration or burst when he hits the hole. Doesn't have next level breakaway speed. Doesn't show great vision - chooses to run straight ahead most of the time rather than bumping runs outside. Plays like an RB in high school, but would certainly play as an FB in college. Given the limited role that FBs have in modern college offenses, his options would be limited, and more than likely play as a run blocking specialist.

Best of luck to this kid though.

I see it differently. He is patient in running where a hole opens then looks for whoever is waiting then Boom, they on there ass. And he runs North south the way he should run because he is no burner. Can catch the ball. Block like a friggin Boss. What's not to like about the kid.

looks a little slow, but could work. obviously strong, but interested to see how he would handle SEC type guys who are his size. once he is through the hole he has a nice one step cut which offsets some of the lack of break away speed. imo.

seems like he is one of those guys the announcers say that defenders don't want to tackle at the end of the game. worth a look.

Surprised he has no offers. He isn't a Power 5 guy, but still should receive interest from other schools. 5A Indiana defenses are not very good (at least per the film).

I'm certainly no expert, but I wasn't impressed with his tape. He is strong, tough and all that, but not fast enough. Certainly doesn't look quick enough. He is a football player, just not a great looking prospect to my untrained eye.

A Jumper kind of guy. Heart, tough, etc, just doesn't have that twitch. Probably great at a lower level program just not p5.

The Best Football Prospect Nobody Has Ever Heard Of

Easton Bruere played QB in New Mexico, threw for 4600 yards, 49TD, 6INT his senior year and couldn't field an offer, even standing 6'3/200. I looked up his 247 pages and he's a ghost. Went JUCO and still didn't have any interested schools take a chance on him.

Granted, I'd be way more comfortable signing a RB, where there are 4 other dudes on the roster to spread the responsibility around.

I guess Bruere didn't want to/couldn't afford to take a PWO position or something, the article was published a week before NSD 2015. Just an interesting story..

Hope Spegal gets a shot somewhere before it's all said and done.

Look the kid scored 70 touchdowns in a season. I don’t care what kinda competition you are playing that’s impressive.

That being said for all those saying he is slow.... how many of you run 4.6s? That’s plenty of speed to hit a hole and gain some yards while trucking people doing it. Not all situations call for a burner at RB. Also, if he was recruited as a true FB he has plenty of speed.

He's not fast enough. He may have 4.6 top speed but he doesn't have the agility to be a power 5 running back. That being said, he would make a great fullback with a couple of totes per game.

FB is a dying breed. I loved watching this old school football... It's what I grew up watching, but it's hard in this day and age.

I loved the larry csonkas, John riggins, Tom rathman, Daryl Johnson, mike alstotts of the world. The old fat back bruiser/lead blocker.

I like this kid, but watching his film he is too slow when he bounces outside. Much better North and South runner. Be a great wedge buster if they still allowed real kickoff returns.

He is old school. Hope he makes it somewhere.
