Get it! Butch Gets It, Now we as fans fans need to get it.
I've been negative at times, but i remind myself we are rebuilding from the ground up. We as fans need to be patient

I haven't been mad yet.

I knew this would be a down year even if Tom Landry was the coach.

I am however disappointed in the OL's play, and to a lesser extent the QB play. I still believe in Butch, and the process

What about the line play? I have my own opinions but I'd like to hear yours.

I thought they would be dominant. I knew they could pass block, but I thought everyone of them would make huge strides in run blocking. (Which of course hasn't happened)

I honestly thought they would be so good, that they would mask a lot of Worleys inexperience. Of course there may not be a line in the NFL that is capable of that.

This. Very disappointed in their production to this point. They aren't terrible, especially given the fact that other defenses are loading the box trying to make Worley beat them. Really need a breakout game on the ground Saturday.

So you don't think run blocking is better at all, considering last year the passing game was the focal point of our offense?

I need to look up our yards per carry last year. Anyone know what it was?

I haven't stopped being mad since around 2005.

I'm not Goat, but I will give my opinion on the line play.
With all of the hype leading up to this season, I expected them to be the one dominant part of the team. They should have completely manhandled WKU, APU, and USA to the point we shouldn't have had to worry about an atrocious passing game. If the OL were what they were built up to be, we should have been able to rush for 500 yards (slight exaggeration) in each of those games. Instead we saw only sporadic domination of the line of scrimmage. It seems that for every one hole they blew open, there were three others that the back was tackled in the backfield or the pressure was in the QB's face.
At this point I feel that the OL has been very very overrated and underachieving.

Not to disagree or nitpick, but unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe our backs had any negative rushing plays against WKU or APU. I might be wrong, but I believe that to be the case.

Not really an opinion as much as a question: Could the line play be more of a coaching issue? I ask this in remembrance of their line play a few years ago when the blocking schemes seemed to be very complicated and the players really struggled with them. I could be totally out in left field on this, but it's just a observation.

2013 stats so far for comparison

I think that's an improvement across the board, on paper anyway.

You are probably correct. I am just really frustrated and expected much more from them.

I'm just not convinced the line play is as bad as some are making out. I can't see how it's worse than the qb/wr play to this point.

I'll admit I'd like to see a bit more consistency, and we shouldn't be having the stretch like we had on Saturday during those three possessions where we couldn't get a first down.

And short yardage concerns me a little. Traditionally the shotgun zone read offense isn't the best for third or fourth-and-short situations.

The team needs fan support most during the down years.

Being a fan when we are winning is easy.

Fans need to stay tough during the bad times when the truly team needs the emotional lift.

The o line would not be receiving that much criticism IF we actually had a decent QB. True story BTW.

I agree totally. I personally hate the pistol and shotgun formation except for pass plays. It seems as though the running back has a better head of steam when he gets the ball in the traditional "under center" formation (also, the play action pass seems to work better), and seems to be more apt to stutter step a little when the QB is standing back with him when the ball is snapped and he hands him the ball...Just another observation.

A bigger threat in the passing game would definitely open things up for our running game a little.

I'm guessing it's not the record that has you down. That second half Saturday have you bummed or what?

It's not really this season. It's more to do with the past few years of watching us fall to all time lows while watching rivals at all time highs.
