If Bama drills USCe (a ranked team) tonight.. since the mighty gators only beat ARK (an unranked team) by 3 points...

You fill in the answer. Personally I can't imagine how the gators would.. should remain on top.. but we all know how these rankings suck.

However, I am sure this upped lil timmy's rankings in the eyes of the hypeman voters since he pretty much singlehandedly beat that unranked team hisself.

I would love to have the Vols go to Bama with them ranked number one... that would make us face two number one teams this year.... and when we "shock the world" and win by 3, O well you get the picture

If Florida is the best team this year, then NCAA Football must be having a down year. If Alabama takes care of SC pretty handedly tonight I don't see how they can't be #1.

AL should be tops.

Heisman race is a joke this year.

I agree. I think the AP is certainly watching tonight's game with a "ready to pull the trigger" attitude on elevating the tide. They've latched onto them over the last couple of weeks, especially on ESPN, with good reason. What's our record, on the road, against #1 teams? LOL

I don't know if they will be number 1, but they are the best team. It could be really ugly next week.

Heisman race has been a joke for many years.

Its supposed to be the best player in college football. Instead, it has devolved into the best QB or RB on a team that finishes in the top 5. Last time I checked this wasn't meant to be awarded to a team.

Here's a hypothetical for you:

What if UF an Alabama meet in Atlanta as the only two undefeated teams left at that point and its a squeaker, maybe overtime.

Rematch in the BCS game?

1. Bama
2. Texas
3. Florida
4. USC
5. Boise
6. Cincinnati
7. Miami
8. LSU
9. Iowa
10. TCU

How I see the top 10 shaking out this week... I think.

That debate occurred in 2006. So many people thought Michigan would be the best match up. There is really no choice but to give another team the shot IMO.

Doubtful. Same scenario with Michigan and Ohio State from '06. Although that may have been the biggest sham 1-2 matchup in decades. Both teams went on to destroyed in their bowl games.

I seriously doubt UF drops 2 spots.
Rephrase... I put the top 3 how I felt they should be, because it's inconsequential. Texas will win out, and Florida and Alabama will be playing for the other spot in the national title. Looking like a clean break for the BCS this year with an easy #1-#2.

Agreed, all Texas has to do is run the table and the polls will work their way out.

And yes, I do believe that given equal officiating, Texas could have gutted it out against the Gators. That's just speculation, though.

And they have no business below TX.

I dunno... maybe Texas is overrated, but have you actually LOOKED at FU's schedule? For a number one team, it would be a joke if it were funny.. but it's sad. At least USCw has/will play ranked teams...

I don't. OU with their QB walks them over. OU isn't as good as UF on O or D. TX inability to run it is a huge problem now that their receiving corps is only decent.
