It becomes creepy imo when you start sending them random messages. I'll agree that because of my age, I may not "get it", but some of the messages sent to these kids cross boundaries.

I do agree that people cross boundaries and I would never message a recruit but the point of social media is connecting people.

If the recruit is open to it I see nothing wrong with friendly encouragement. It's part of what recruits consider "showing love".

What you did is not illegal. The information you posted is public. I think the problem some have is not so much the posting of the info, but that you went "digging" for the info in the first place, on someone you do not know and have zero relationship with.

You can say what you want, but that deep of a dive into a recruit's family is a bit creepy.
