- Recruited to knox under different staff
- maybe thought he had a chance to win a championship during his last year playing college ball. It was obvious UT wasn’t quite ready to compete at that level

I’m just saying, I’ve read so many posts about how UGA underutilizes their TEs compared to us yet here’s a guy who defected for whatever reason.

Staff didn’t play him much because they wanted a Bigger TE for blocking. Eli was not that.

Either way, it seems like it would be unwise for Kirby to not try to press that angle. Whether Eli has any ill will toward UT or not is kind of immaterial. All someone has to do is plant the bug in DWs ear: “Look, here’s a guy who transferred from Tennessee to play TE here cause he didn’t like how they were using him.”

DWA was 260lbs and Pope was a proven blocker. Eli wasn’t going to get to see the field.
