Lol. FWIW I am fine with this ruling because it's going after a government entity. I wouldnt want it applied to private companies.

What about government rules on private companies?

I.E. we have contracts with government agencies that require our workers to be vaccinated. If those workers were let go because they couldn't perform that work, should they be allowed back on?

I disagree.

**** the government and mandates

Ok, if the employer's only choice was to lose the contract or terminate the employees the employees were probably going to be terminated anyway with the loss of business. The employer probably saved more jobs by keeping the contract. Plus who's paying the back pay, the employer or the .gov? What does the employer do with the employees hired to replace the ones let go?

I would fully support a lawsuit against the government for issuing the mandate.

Methinks you folks don't know how the courts work in NY. Every county has a "supreme court," and this decision came out of Richmond County (i.e., MAGAville Staten Island). There is no such thing as "the" supreme court of New York. This is like some podunk three-toothed judge in some small county in Tennessee issuing a batsh*t crazy decision that will get reversed in short order. This decision will be appealed and reversed by the appellate division, and appealed again to the court of appeals (the highest court in NY), which will affirm it's reversal.

Typical right wing media garbage

I would say it depends on how those contracts are written.

I wouldnt think the government could force companies to hire people back, but depending on the contracts there may be some wrongful termination type settlements, idk though, that seems pretty tricky any way you slice it.
