during press conference for Ft. Hood. He also spoke about the Healthcare bill. This is a complete disgrace to the proud men and women who serve this great country. His actions are inexcusable! To me, that shows his lack of respect for this Country and its Military personnel. Some will dismiss this as a "rookie" mistake, but anyone with an ounce of common sense and decency, would know that this was disrespectful.

I heard this on my way home from Dallas yesterday and followed it as long as the radio could get reception. I viewed it as a typical response, and was very appropriate, however, it could be deemed as a Public Relations nightmare. They cued him up too early while he was still addressing the conference he was at, and the "shout out" comment made him sound very Junior Varsity to say the least.

That being said, Mr. Obama said all the sterotypical things a President should say concerning the events in Texas. Im sure the guy that flipped the switch on 2-3 minutes pryor to him addressing the shooting, has been approached about the obvious slip up.

There are myriad reasons that Obama is unqualified for his gig and an anathema to our way of life, but this was not one of him.

I just don't see the gripe.

I'll add;

After the media built it up that they were going directly to Mr. Obama concerning the issue, they should have been in tune as to what he was talking about. For someone looking to bash him, it was perfect. It took him a while to get to the point.

Seriously? This is reaching a little deep isn't it?

Nope, not reaching at all!!

The man is the POTUS. He has cameras all around. A national audience waiting to hear his explanation of the events at Ft. Hood and he starts off with "shout-outs" and thanking people for "such a great conference". With all the attention, it was a perfect time for him to put a liitle push for the Healthcare Bill. But it was inappropraite.

" Thank you all. I would first like to speak on behave of the American people and say that we are appalled at the situation that has occurred at Ft. Hood. Our heart felt condolences go out to the family members of the victims of such an unnecessary tragedy"

Using a cop-out that he didnt know the cameras were on is not going to work

So how does that affect anything?.. Did you lose your job because of it?

"Well, it doesnt affect me so why should I care"

Dude, as much as I dont like him, it was a miscue. It in no way is directly linked to his inferiority concerning his address on the issue that happened at Ft Hood. Dislike the guy for "shout outs" and other JV crap, but dont link these two things together.

The radio went to him earlier.
He wasnt finished addressing the audience at the conference.
He did make the generic statement he should have made.
If you had not have heard the first 2 minutes of his speech, and just what was intended for you to hear, you'd have nothing to complain about concerning this.

It just gets under my skin. Even without the cameras, he should have addressed the crowd as if he was addressing the nation. There could have been a family member in the crowd, ex-military, current military.

I agree with you, he stood up their wanting to say hi to people and talk about how much more we can do for the Native Americans. By the way what else is owed to these people? No one alive was responsible for killing their ancestors or taking land hundreds of years ago. He just tries to tell everyone what they want to hear, he tries to suck up to every minority. I am so sick of him.

in his remarks, Obama also referred to Joe Medicine Crow as a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. Funny thing about that, Medicine Crow is not a CMH recipient.

Medicine Crow is, however, a recipient of the Medal of Freedom and a Bronze Star.

for a man alleged to be so smart, Obama is a doofus.

actually BHO said that he "won" the CMH....I am not in the military, but I do not believe that is an honor that can be "won"

So you think caring about this is going to change something?

I care a lot about things that some people find trivial and un-important. What would this country be like if everyone was passive and didnt care? Wait, I know the answer. We would elect a half-wit socialist, with no experience as president, just so we could feel that we have made amends for something that none of us had any control over in the first place. Genius!!

He also apologized to the Eskimo people for the Trail of Tears

The world would revolve a lot faster than it does now.

You can't find one passive person in this country that voted without any influence from others. So actually, the people who put Obama in the whitehouse are people like you.

I refer to those people as sheep. Without a shepherd and a sheep dog, these people would be lost
