Obama: "I actually believe in re-distribution"

Government redistributes income in the form of spending tax dollars all the time. They take my tax dollars and build the roads on which commerce travels, trucks with goods go from one point to another; they use my tax dollars to help fund universities, where people go to learn to be accountants, lawyers, and to manage businesses; they use my tax dollars to pay for guns, ammunition, and food and clothing for service men and women in Afghanistan.

Some of my tax dollars may well have contributed, along with the dollars of millions of others,to help the business that Bain bought and sold prosper.

They also go to Cowboy Poetry festivals.

Romney needs to quit the bytchin', imo.
romney needs to pound this at every turn. Government redistro in terms of infrastructure is not remotely what Obama's discussing, but you knew that.

To be clear, he's talking about free money for the the "less fortunate." It fits his dumbass "you didn't earn that" commentary. You can ignore it if you'd like, but it doesn't change that the whole idea of free crap for the "less fortunate" has been the sole basis for his election in every election he has ever won.

Did you happen to catch, not just the last words of that sentence, but the last few sentences after that ? If so, you would not hypothesize what you would like to suggest he's talking about. Because, if you listen to all of it in that portion, it's clear he is not saying what you, and the far right distortion team, would like to claim.

Again, though, when you, and Fox, and Limbaugh et al play that tape (in a failed and desperate effort to distract from Romney's having blown what little chance he had left), you seem to leave that out. Curious.

This is really dumb. Redistribution of resources means what, depending on the subject? If you're talking about schools, it might mean from science to shop or from shop to science. The negativity kings always try to make things into something bad, when they don't even know WTF they are talking about.

Obama makes it quite clear in Dreams from my Father that he finds socialism and redistribution of wealth, at the very least, a very appealing concept. In light of that, it is safe to say that Obama is speaking of wealth redistribution based on a "greater good for the society" notion.

I think it is reasonable to say that many systemic and structural injustices exist in our society; many are remnants from the past. It would be great if we could easily remedy and correct those injustices. However, the way to correct systemic injustice is to correct the system; it is not to mandate more injustice.

If someone came to your door, put a gun to your head, and demanded that you hand over 25% of your assets in order to provide benefits to someone who is the product of systemic injustice, would such an action be just? The government is simply that gunman writ large; and that is exactly what coercive wealth redistribution boils down to.
