Creator and co-host Barbara Walters said Obama's appearance, along with the past appearance of First Lady Michelle Obama, shows "The View" can play the role of news source.

"This shows that both the president and first lady feel that our show is an influential and important source of information and news," she said in a written statement.

Wow. Is she serious?

If Obama wants to reach a real TV audience, he should go back on the O'Reilly Factor. Bill has been such a milquetoast when it comes to Obama, the President would likely feel like he's in the friendly confines of MSNBC, only with real ratings.

alot of welfare mom watch the view. but they already vote for him anyways so it's a wash.

On Bill's show about 3 weeks ago he said "I have determined that Obama is a far left guy" I was screaming at the tv, where the hell has O'Reilly been for the last 2 1/2 years?

If America is truly relying on The View as a credible news source I think it is time to call it a day.

His first day in office he returned the bust of Churchill, a gift from Britian, from the Oval Office back to England and then gave the Queen an Ipod, probably loaded with gansta rap. That was nothing less than a slap in the face to one of our closest allies. As a matter of fact he has alienated all our allies and embraced all our enemies.

His first TV speech after his election was to the muslim world.

What next? He probably should ship the statue of Liberty back to France.

Concidering his political appointees and close advisors, it would appear he is more likely to appear at a NAMBLA function than a Boy Scout celebration.

I wouldn't go either. They have turned into dope smoking thugs. Back when I was in Scouts it was so much different. Sure we got a little hammered at jamborees and whatnot but we WERE NOT thugs!

Because it is a disingenuous comment. Saying that makes it look like he has actually thought it through and is reasonable. Which he hasn't, and which he isn't.

I find it really hard to believe anyone in the scout's organization would condone or even allow such behavior to be associated with their organization.

I could be wrong but if what you say is true then it surely is an isolated incidence.

BTW, when I was a scout we didn't get hammered a jamborees because the scoutmasters were there.

Now out on our own, earning camping merit badges etc, we may have had a couple of beers now and then which was enough to get us hammered.

I never said they condoned it. We were kids being kids. Our scoutmasters were tools. They were clueless as to what we were up to. I took my first drink of shine before I had hair on my sack. A couple beers was not gonna get me hammered. But that sort of thing is behind me. Sure it was stupid but it's what we did back then.

To the majority of folks posting in this forum, I'm very left, and Obama is way out there. To a more diverse audience, I'm much closer to the center, even right on many issues, and Obama is left but not nearly as much as he is compared to the center here.
