name one time in his entire career that he didn't pander to pelosi or reid.

As President, I can't and neither can you. I don't mean to attack you, but everything is NOT black and white, there are many shades of gray in politics, especially going from the Senate to the Presidency. Whether YOU believe it or not, his strongest advisors are going to tell him to keep his thumb on those two and being the pragmatist he is, Obama will listen to those more experienced and not pander to them.

right obama isn't going to help out those who got him elected. politics never works like that. now that he is president he will give the middle finger to anyone that can help get him reelected.

that was one of the left's favorite criticisms of George W. Bush, that he listened to his advisers way too much.

Interesting how that is suddenly a reasonable and expected methodology.

but Obama's new politics. He's above the fray. You wait and see (guess you have to since you apparently can't have an opinion until you actually see something Obama's done). Speculation is worthless here since you don't know for sure.

Reid told Obama to give money to the DNC so they could fund some of the races. Obama told him he needs to take care of his own business, he had a campaign to run and did not give him a dime.

You guys have Pelosi backwards, she is going to suck up to Obama, watch.[/QUOTE]

No doubt. She actually started it yesterday.

Guys, when you have people like Warren Buffet and Paul Volcker backing your economic plan and guys like Powell, Abizaid and Casey backing your stances in military matters and foreign policy, you have attained a high degree of credibility, regardless of what any of you on the right say, including BPV. Obama is going to govern this country from the center left, not far left. Not to mention, Obama just finished one of the most, if not the most, brilliant campaigns of all time. His ability to stick to a plan and do it in a disciplined manner has gained him tons of credibility. You can sit around like BPV and moan and groan about our future, because you are so well versed on the issues, or you can face reality and at least, get on board for a while. There is nothing documented in his plans that says everyone is going to get free healthcare...yet many of you, somehow???, think this is what he wants to do. There is nothing in his plans that say he is going to establish more give-aways. In fact, in his DOCUMENTED plans, there are expectations to drastically REDUCE give-aways.

I give up.

You're wrong. Everyone on the left said Bush SHOULD have listened to Powell, Generals Abizaid, Casey, Zini, etc., his father, James Baker.

you can write all the tomes you want about how Obama is going to be a different person than his history and campaign blather suggest, but it doesn't change anything.

In fact, if anything, it makes the man a fraud. He has told people universal healthcare is coming and that 95% will get tax breaks / tax checks. He specifically said that stuff. He said that the Supreme Court should have meted out 'economic justice' over the civil rights issues. His entire career in Illinois was about civil rights and low income entitlements.

How is that hard for you to understand. You're talking something that the man has never been and never said he's going to be.

How am I complaining about it and why single me out? I have an opinion based upon the picture he has painted for me. I had a similar opinion of Clinton based upon his track record. He tried very hard to live up to his utopia, but his congress was cut from underneath him for it and he was forced back to the center by a repub congress. In 96, I didn't have the same concerns because there was some sort of sanity check on decisions and Clinton had legitimately moved toward the center. Until Obama does that, you're wasting your air in saying he's going to go against all of the empirical evidence.

In fact, you're the last person here to try to be convincing anyone of anything centrist.

Yeah, you're right. :eek:k:

I am not going to argue with you anymore. I am sorry I have attacked you the past few days. You are probably a decent guy and there are probably a great number of reasons you see the world as you do. And I promise, if Obama screws up royally, I will be the first to say so. I also promise I WON'T say I told you so when he gets a few things right.

I realize the Buffets, Volckers, Powells, etc. of the world have less insight than those of you who expect things to get worse and think Obama will be a huge failure.

Seriously, do some homework on Bush's first cabinet. It was littered with extremely bright and extremely capable people, including fence sitting Powell, but he was still an absolute disaster over the course of 8 years. Wonder how that happened?

arrogance over time, yes. Prick, I'm not so sure I agree.

Obama has a very similar arrogance about him. He clearly believes he's the smartest guy in every room. He might be, but I'm not buying it.

I suppose you could be right, although when you add in Cheney...
