I thought you went to nine million OTs against Kentucky. Or was that UGA that did that.

We did, but there was no miraculously fortuitous play that caused us to win. Against USC our own fumble caused us to win. Against Vandy, I think their kicker missed an easy one to lose the game.

A win is a win, is it not?

Of course. And Lord knows that Florida in 2006 got lucky repeatedly to get to the BCS c-ship game. One point win versus you guys, three blocked kicks against So Car. Every team to have a successful year has to get lucky along the way. Usually a lot.

I was just trying to even out the anti-Gator discourse by trying to point out that its not like UT last year ran rougshod over the rest of the East to get to Atlanta.

We all know that, Tennessee always take a back seat in the SEC while Fulmer is here.

didn't we block a short FG in OT to stay alive vs KY?

Yes, but I consider that more of us doing something to directly help us win. Arian fumbling forward was just luck. We may have been a little lucky against UK, but we were super lucky against SC and Vandy. We only played one half of football in those two games.

I think KY was similar. We effectively quit in the second half, they brought it back and we thought we were dead in OT. After our TO, I thought the FG was a done deal. I think that block was much luckier than the bad Vandy coaching and missed bomb of a FG. JMO.

I guess I'm just having trouble remembering. What was the bad Vandy coaching at the end? Anyhoo, in the final 30 minutes of the Vandy and SC games, we looked terribly inferior. If those games had gone into overtime, I'm betting UT loses. I didn't feel that way about the UK game. UK looked a lot better in the second half, but it wasn't quite like UT just completely checked out.

thought the bad coaching was the 2 runs then throw then punt series on just about every possession after midway through the 3rd quarter. Johnson actually out-Philled, Phil.
