Obama preparing to close Gitmo

No one threatened you. You are the only one making threats. I said if you were calling me a terrorist then I would make a drive to Chattanooga and see if you would say it to my face. You stopped the terrorists talk right then, but then made a mistake of threatening to kick the azz of a former high ranking US military commander.

You're too stupid to be true
Just shut up with your drivel.

You made your threats, but when called in a PM. The best you could do is threaten to send law enforcement, excuse me, government agents to my door.

Send them.

Twisting the events and facts a bit aren't you? In fact, you are blantantly lying

Notice you didn't mention you were asked if you were calling me a terrorist for which you provide no answer except to call me a punk and threaten to whip me and my dead father's azz.

Excuse me? Who made the threats here in the forum?

Did you not PM me and say,
don't be surprised if you dont' get a knock tonight on your front door by someone besides myself.

Then did you not add some drivel about the NSA?

closing Gitmo would be a mistake without a clear plan to deal with the detainees. They simply must not be permitted onto the US mainland where the ACLU will immediately declare them protected by the Constitution.

Maybe Bush can scare up another hurricane with his global warming weather machine.

My bet is on Bush crashing the messiah's bash...

Back to the original topic. Obviously Gitmo has been used to persecute the innocent.

Obama and the liberals, the terrorist's best friends. :shakehead:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Pentagon said on Tuesday that 61 former detainees from its military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, appear to have returned to terrorism since their release from custody.

Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said 18 former detainees are confirmed and 43 suspected of "returning to the fight."

He said the figures, updated at the end of December, showed a higher rate of recidivism than seen in a previous report showing 37 former detainees as active militants.

He provided no details about the detainees or their countries of origin.

"The overall known terrorist re-engagement rate has increased to 11 percent" from about 7 percent, Morrell said.

The numbers were generated by the Pentagon's Defense Intelligence Agency based on fingerprints, photographs and intelligence reports, he said.

President-elect Barack Obama, who takes office on Tuesday, is expected to issue an executive order to close the Guantanamo Bay prison, possibly within his first week in office.

I say send them to Eastern Europe and say the heck with it!

air drop them into the middle of Siberia, some place above the Arctic Circle. Equip them with a blanket, single match, 3ft length of heavy cord and a pack of beef jerky.

This thread has taken some weird turns, to say the least.

I agree to a certain extent with the statment I have highlighted in bold. Your reasoning on terrorists not taking Russian and Chinese citizens is beyond stupid and wrong. Plain and simple. The dynamics of their presence in certain parts of the world where terrorism is more rampant isn't even close to the US. When is the last time you heard of Russia having a military base in the middle east? Not since the late eighties and even then, plenty of Russians got taken hostage by the Afghans and were tortured.

The Russians have been heavily involved in the middle east since the days of Lenin, the thing is, they always back the bad guys as long as they are anti-American.

I know you probably won't read what's in the link, but don't blame me for your ignorance on the topic in the future.

Maybe some will go to Canada??

Trying one up joevol for forum member that says the dumbest statements award, eh?

Don't worry, you are in a class by yourself, no one is going to knock you off that pedestal.

5 meals a day
access to medical and dental care
religious accommodation
cool orange jumpsuits
free lawyers
left-wing jackasses who think they deserve Constitutional protections and who give them the benefit of the doubt.

And don't forget certified halal food.

Good read. Thanks gs

My point being that a lot of these nuts return to fight or kill Americans somewhere in the world. Why the hard on to close the safest place we have to keep such people?

Why did Jimmy Carter give away the vital, strategically important Panama Canal that is now run by the Chinese communist government??

There is no rhyme or reason evident.

ABC news reports that Camp Pendleton, California may be where the prisoners are headed.

(BTW, I sure hope Duncan Hunter is the next Republican candidate for POTUS.)

I can see Barack having a big ceremony when turning the US Guantanamo Base over to Raul while apologizing for American imperialism.
