Bigger government. Just what we need. And, after reading the article, it doesn't look like this is anything more than them wanting to do regular maintenance on government facilities. Which will be done by contractors licensed by the government. AKA kickback contractors.

are these new jobs or the mythical jobs he has been "saving" in the past 6 months.

edit: ah. it's clearly the latter. good to know.

Obama senior adviser David Axelrod argues that the stimulus program is working and points to fewer jobs lost in May than the month before as a hopeful sign of economic recovery. Improvements in unemployment numbers naturally come later, he said.

What a generous gesture by the puppet master. Glad he is not waiting until fall to create and save.

I'm more interested in when he's going to force the banks to start lending some of this money back out. Private projects need funds too

Axlerod and Co. conveniently leave out that their projections were for unemployment to peak at 8%. Now we're at 9.4% - do those count as jobs they lost that we wouldn't have otherwise lost?

I remember last time he made these comments while at the Caterpillar plant claiming the boss-man said the stimulus would prevent him from laying off folks. Of course the boss-man denied it and recently Cat had a major lay-off.

"I know that they are some who, despite all evidence to the contrary, still don't believe in the necessity and promise of this recovery," Obama said. "And I would suggest to them that they talk to the companies who, because of this plan, scrapped the idea of laying off employees and in fact decided to hire employees. Tell that to the Americans who received that unexpected call saying, `Come back to work.'"

Facts have no place in this discussion, sir.

it shows your ignorance.

Pot meet kettle!

Some of your rhetoric would certainly lead any reasonable person to wonder. If that makes me ignorant then I will wear that badge with honor.
