Obama promising 600,000 goverment jobs by summer.

just make sure you don't end up in Latveria. Victor Von Doom makes Hugo Chavez look like a pansy.

I swear....every time I mention Latvia I get a Von Doom reference. I just wish I had his electrical abilities. I'd pass on the skin disorder though.

I've actually thought about living elsewhere as well. My job only has a limit of being connected to the internet. As long as that is up I can work anywhere. As much as I've been involved in Latvia lately I would not mind living there. The winters are another story. But the living is nice and the beaches are wonderful.

Riga? I've heard it's beautiful. Any interesting things you've seen?

Riga is very beautiful. It was known as the Paris of the east before Uncle Joe brought the kids in '45. The old town is very nice. The burbs are the classic Soviet style flats.

Lots of old history there. Communism still has scars on that place. The ethnic Russians and Latvians do not get along and make for tension. The younger generation is fleeing en mass. The women are beautiful. The beaches on the west coast are amazing. Very white sand and no development along them. You can walk through a dense forest and then pop out to an amazing beach. It's kind of a mix. Some very good and some very bad there. I still love it. I actually love the smaller towns there.

I was in Latvia for two weeks in June. Not a big fan of 3.5 hours of "darkness". Blackout curtains are helpful in the summer. And the cold weather kicks in about September and goes through about April. They allow a foreigner to stay in country 90 days in a 6 month period. I may go in April and leave in September if I do decide to venture there.
