Obama regime has no idea how to fix economy

And, obviously, my point is that the problems underlying the cause of tge recession AND the subsequent slow recovery are so structural and have been building for so long that only the most partisan, or foolish, would seriously think obamacare is now the problem.

You are truly uninformed and not very bright if you think you can divorce the slow recovery from the original problems that caused the recession, itself. That is particularly true this time around.

Where did I say it was divorced from squat.....you are the uninformed one if you think that this economy would not be coming around faster if it did not have all the shat that Obamacare brings with it if it stays on course to go along with the looming tax increases on the "rich".....every one on this board knows who the partisan hack is sir.....the thread is about the recovery, not the recession and it is high time BHO took his rightful blame for the 3 1/2 years he has put the brakes on it

Do you care that a very large percentage of companies have cited Obamacare as a reason that they are not hiring? Do you care that many organizations, such as SBB, say that their members aren't hiring because of Obamacare? Do you care that my company, a multi-billion dollar company, is only hiring temps and no permanents right now because we are unsure of the full effects of Obamacare?

Whether it should affect hiring is one question, but if companies believe that it will negatively impact them and it influences hiring, then it is real.

He does not care because that is not what he wants to hear.
You work for a huge company and I own a small one, but we are both on the same page.
I have two new products that I am ready to bring to my market but I will not hire the people that it will take to do that until I know what Obamacare is going to cost me.

I'm curious, T-Town. Is it a case that you know what Obamacare might cost and, if it is enacted, you will not launch your product?

One thing to consider is that congress does a piss-poor job of writing laws nowadays. So often, the law is written giving authority to regulate to someone and then leaves the actual details of the regulation to some bureaucrat. We simply do not know what the actual effects of Obamacare will be. I think it is Department of Health and Human services that will decide things like what minimum coverages will be, amongst other things.

One thing my company is considering is dropping health coverage altogether and paying the penalty. We know what the penalty will be. We do not know the actual costs of whatever coverages are demanded. Not to mention the way insurance costs are growing and will grow even faster as more of Obamacare is phased in.

Right now, my company is at about the breakeven point between providing insurance and paying the penalty. It won't take much to tip us over. Then all of us employees will be forced to buy in the individual market at much higher prices. Yay!

It is the UNKNOWN that is stopping me. My agent calls every other week and tells me about something else that has been "discovered" about the bill and the cost.

This is exactly what the bill is designed to do. The government owned plan will be the least expensive and the plan that most will join. Then they have you and all the control.

OK. thanks for the answer. I'm curious because a former company is going through the same process. They have decided to go ahead based on their estimate of the increase in health care costs. I hope they're right. They are usually a pretty careful lot.

My market is so tight and competitive that I must be spot on with my pricing before I can launch. There are just too many variables right now because of Obamacare and unresolved tax increase issues.

Understood. Good luck!
