Nobama doesn't believe in Jerusalem so I guess he doesn't recognize Israel as a state anymore......or maybe it's one of the 57?

Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, tweeted: “How ironic that the #POTUS has time for high dollar $40K-a-head fundraiser with @JayZ and @Beyonce but not for the PM of Israel.”

Hmph.

If this is the kind of stuff that happens in the first term, imagine what will happen in the second term when there is no worry of being re-elected.

LOL @ anyone who thinks putting in this crop of GOP religious miscreants will result in greater civil liberties.

Lets see, Bush gave us the "patriot act" Obama gave us the NDAA.
I really do not see how either party can claim a strong support for civil liberties. We're screwed either way imo.

Making sure he meets with him. The guy still has a job besides campaigning.

That is what PM Netanyahu is doing, campaigning in our Election. No American President should allow himself to be used like that by any foreign head of state. Netanyahu knows our policy towards Iran; there is nothing new to require a meeting. He just wants a press conference where he can put our President on the spot with a few self-serving statements.

Godless liberals don't recognize Jerusalem, at least not until they see all those empty seats.

I, honestly, have no idea why Americans think that Israel is our responsibility.

Most three time a year Christians have some vague sense that the Old Testament ties them to the Jewish faith. They don't know why, exactly.

Hard core Christians recall that Jesus was Jewish, but they are conflicted over it because they don't like stereotypical Jews in their social clubs.

Its very complicated.

The difference being Obama led us to believe he cared about civil liberties. Then he re-upped on PATRIOT Act and Gitmo, and established NDAA.

Strange thing for you to say. Atheists and agnostics represent a small percentage of the American population, liberal and conservative. According to Israeli polls, they are a majority of Israel's population. There is no doubt that the most influential group of atheists in America are Neoconservative Israelis, nesting within the Republican Party. I personally was struck by the prayer at the Democratic Convention. The delegates appeared to be genuinely religious folks. They weren't just standing there with their eyes closed during prayer; they were praying.

FYP....God and Jerusalem were removed from the platform by Barry because Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is still "on the table" as far as he is concerned with the Palestinians. When the backlash in the media and the party in general happened, they were forced to take a vote on the "inadvertent leaving out of God and Jerusalem in the platform". Editorial error they claimed. That could have flown right up to the point that the rube that took the vote stuttered because the mob clearly DID NOT want to put it back in. He stumbled once, twice, and then the third time, they put in on the teleprompter for him. This was a major gaff that the GOP is letting the Dums slide on.

You did not fix anything. The two issues were placed together for one vote; that's called log-rolling. Given the overwhelming numbers who participated in prayer, I doubt those same folks objected to including God in the platform. BTW, you do not know who excluded and included what in the platform. You just assume whatever reinforces your own prejudices.
