Given the report that came out today about Iran, this isn't the best move by the POTUS.

Meanwhile Obama is preparing to roll out the red carpet for Morsi and the muslim brotherhood when they visit before long.

While we are eliminating our nuclear weapons Pakistan is building theirs and will soon surpass Great Britian in the number of such weapons in their stockpile.

The man who was convicted of passing nuclear secrets to Iran is out and is thinking of running for president of Pakistan, while the man who helped locate bin Laden is serving 33 years because of White House intelligence leaks.

I could go on but why bother, anyone with one eye and half sense gets the picture.

Strange thing for you to say. Atheists and agnostics represent a small percentage of the American population, liberal and conservative. According to Israeli polls, they are a majority of Israel's population. There is no doubt that the most influential group of atheists in America are Neoconservative Israelis, nesting within the Republican Party. I personally was struck by the prayer at the Democratic Convention. The delegates appeared to be genuinely religious folks. They weren't just standing there with their eyes closed during prayer; they were praying.

Did not know that.

I long for the day that America is like that. We are becoming more and more secular. There are less fervent religious people and more people who are falling into the category of "agnostic". I hope the trend continues.

As far as the now famous meeting or missed meeting between the two, it is nothing but a political ruse. They talk to each other on a regular basis. They have some sort of understanding (unbeknownst to us). There is no need to fret over this meeting.

If I was POTUS, I would tell Israel that I feel it is a mono e mono situation. I think they should handle it on their own. As long time allies, we will help with with intelligence and will sell them arms if they want them (as long as the Pentagon clears it for security reasons). Since Israel is striking Iran unprovoked, Iran has every right to defend themselves. If Iran whipped the sh*t out of Israel, then that would be the end of the Jewish state as we know it. The one caveat I would have is that if another country besides Iran attacks Israel, we would help defend Israel.

The difference being Obama led us to believe he cared about civil liberties. Then he re-upped on PATRIOT Act and Gitmo, and established NDAA.

However, if they decide that an attack is necessary for our security, then they would do a comprehensive job of striking both nuclear facilities and Iran's ability to retaliate. Israel cannot do that. So Americans do not want Israel provoking a worse case scenario with a limited attack resulting in a full Iranian retaliation against American and allied targets in the region.

2) How do you know what Israel's capabilities are?

3) If Israel attacked Iran, and Iran attacked US targets in response, they are a lot dumber than I think. No way in hell they are that stupid. If the US was to publicly state that it was a mono e mono situation like I alluded to, Iran would have to be suicidal to bring the US into the confrontation.
