Oh, they're serious alright. I doubt it will have legs, but they'd love for Romney to have to burn up a couple of news cycles apologizing to the relatives of a deceased gay man that he bullied 40 years ago.

What's nuts is I can't believe Team Obama didn't wait on the "i'm cool with gays" comments from the POTUS to let Romney explain his dumb auto bailout comments. Seems like they'd let him deal with that for a few days then come out with the announcement.

Maybe the WaPo gave them a heads up they were running with this story (obviously in the works for a while)?

I don't recall the stories of Obama's youth other than the one's he told himself with "composite" characters.

I don't recall. Was the media fawning over him then?

Read the comments under that article - he was attacked for the comments.

Just goes to show it's about the person and letter after their name more than the viewpoint.

read the WaPo article and I'm confused: is this getting serious play anywhere?

a) did I miss it? where did Romney bully anybody because they were gay?

b) all I got is that Romney might have been a douchey prep school kid, then went on his mission and came back a mature adult.

c) the second half of the article seemed to pretty clearly reignite the class warfare issue b/c Romney went to a prestigious private school (news flash: Punahou is a very prestigious and expensive private school in Honolulu)
