I just finished Decision Points, and I think Bush turned sour on intel after no WMD ever surfaced in Iraq (plus a couple of other instances). I think if that if we find WMD he says go with it a long time ago.

Obama gave the ultimate go ahead... but wouldn't anyone do the same in that situation?

Definitely a right place, right time situation for Obama.. IMO.

I'm glad it happened now rather than closer to the election.

If it were up to him, we would never have extracted the info needed to capture Osama. We got the info from "enhanced interrogation" techniques used in secret prisons. Fortunately, those prisons weren't shut down by Obama until we gathered the info key to finding Osama

that may be true, but whatever caused him to say no, bottom line is he kept saying no. I think it was fear of ending a war and not knowing what do afterwards, but that's just the Libertarian/Moderate in me saying Republicans are as dumb as a box of rocks and Dems are typically wimps.

you'd think so, but they wimped out on taking Osama down multiple times and 3 different presidents pansied out multiple times on taking down Saddam before it finally happened. Just sayin.
