I am on America's side. What about you?

People who disagree with Obama's plans are also on America's side. It's divisive to claim that your views represent what's best for America while those you don't agree with represent something else.

And I am laughing at all the crying going on in this thread. Actually most of the threads contain nothing more than right wing fear rhetoric. You have to laugh at it.

Hyperbole exists throughout this forum from both sides.

How would you suggest questioning the wisdom of Obama's plans without being labeled as a fear monger? Is all dissent fear mongering?

Yep - it was wrong to label someone who was against Bush policies as un-American and it's wrong to suggest critics of Obama are un-American.

The other side???? I am on America's side. What about you? I would like to be on your side, but you guys want to be so divisive about everything. Not necessarily you, but most of the right wing posters in the forum are just as I labeled.

I understand what you are saying and with certain posters i would agree it is simply divisive rhetoric. However many, myself included, had an idea of what Obama might do when in office. Many on the left scoffed at our unfounded criticisms telling us he would govern from the middle, now that he has settled in it certainly does appear some of those fears from conservatives are actually being implemented.

Some of the stuff is right wing fear rhetoric I admit but some of it happen to be fears that are well grounded given this administrations actions to date.

You know what I meant by the other side, just sought your thoughts from the left, and no I don't mean extreme left just the other side of the political spectrum from those that were already being discussed. Just trying to bring some differing opinion to the debate.

The fact you can call a guy "scum" who has been in the job a month says a lot about your stupid insecurities. And even more about all the hate and jealousy you have burning inside of you. And the fact you are probably scum yourself

What hole were you in the past eight years?

I'm guessing it was Obama's??

If I were to meet Obama, there is only one question I would ask them. "Are you trying to run this country into the ground?" Judging by his reckless plans I would say he's well on his way to doing that, whether he intends to or not.

“The tax increases would raise an estimated $318 billion over 10 years by reducing the value of such longstanding deductions as mortgage interest and charitable contributions for people in the highest tax brackets.”

Considering that the housing market is the biggest reason we go into this financial mess, this just seems like a terrible idea.

All you need to know is that government = failure!

Even if you impose other types of taxes, do it to something that doesn't take away one of the biggest incentives to purchase a home.

I would ask him why you do not believe in the people of this country......

he believes in the collective. he has no faith that we, as a nation of individuals, can work toward a common goal. No, it must be a collective effort, we must hitch ourselves to something larger, doing otherwise displays a poverty of ambition.

The administration acknowledges $634 billion is not enough to pay the full cost of health-care reform that Mr. Obama and many congressional Democrats envision; the final price tag is estimated at more than $1 trillion over 10 years. The senior official who previewed the health plan Wednesday said the budget proposal is intended as a down payment and said the administration would work with Congress to find the rest.

$634 billion is the installment plan.

$634 billion is the installment plan.

And when they say the total cost over 10 years is estimated at 1 trillion, they actually mean that it will run 2 trillion once you begin to figure in how inept government is at running things such as this.

No, government estimates usually don't include the amount lost from all the little nibbles that bureaucrats take along the way.
