Inside the Beltway - Washington Times

Barry calls teaparty members "teabaggers". I thought he was going to be the most non partisan POTUS? This President and his admin is the most partisan ever, he demonizes and trashes anyone who disagrees with his far left agenda. I believe a President is supposed to above partisan politics, but not this guy.

Clearly he never had any intentions of being anything but the same partisan hack he was prior to the election. I'm not sure why anyone bought the lie. Maybe him saying it over and over had people believing. TennNC, a very bright poster on this site, believed to his core that the guy was something different.

His use of the word "teabagger" fits his MO perfectly. He shrewdly uses his bully pulpit to try (note the word here) and marginalize opposition. It doesn't work, but his overwhelming congressional majority makes it seem that he's effective. It boils down to him being big and bold as fast as possible with as much legislative trash as possible prior to losing his only true source of power: said overwhelming majorities. We can blame Obama for his crap, but we can blame the unpopularity of Bush for his ability to get the crap converted to law.

As did I.

You don't anymore? If not what changed your mind?

One word.

Spending.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's some communist ******* who is out to destroy America. But the amount of money we've expended during his 1 1/2 years is far exceeding what I was expecting. The problem also is the fact that we have no real way of generating enough income to meet all of these expenses.

Sure we do.

Bake Sale
Auction off a date with BPV
Legalize and tax marijuana
Expand the NCAA basketball tournament to 153,000 teams and sell the rights to Fox
Inherit it from Palin and Limbaugh
Invade Canada

No offense, but he is doing what he said he would do.
But I am glad to see you are now awake to what he is up to.

the funniest part to me was this

a sneak peak of Newsweek columnist Jonathan Alter's new book, "The Promise: President Obama, Year One,"

this guy is going to make a fortune by #8

Best I can tell, these are two separate incidents. Try again.

It's from an interview with the chosen one. The one you referenced is from an indirect source so if it's true, the BO is a serial offender....

Even if it were true, and even if use of the phrase wasn't unintentional (I've seen more than one person in casual conversation use that phrase and not relaize they'd said "bagger" instead of "partier"), I am left with a collosal "So what?"

He is supposed to be President, he is supposed to be above partisan politics, he is the most partisan hack to ever sit in the White House. I guess he is just following Saul Alinsky.

Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. DonÂ’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.

According to Alinsky, the main job of the organizer is to bait an opponent into reacting. “The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.”

First, you were the one who didn't have the facts right (tsk, tsk).

Second, it's exactly what BPV that MFr said - one more piece of evidence that BO is a first class divider.

By implication you appear to be suggesting that the tea party folks are one big group of khumbaya singing, hands across America, let's all just get along happy drunks.

Which is hilarious.

How on earth did you get to that "implication"?

We are one big group of America lovers who want gov't to stop spending like money is not object, cut taxes and we promote individual responsibility.

You are wrong as usual. I want spending cut across the board except defense spending. I want those getting slammed with high taxes to get a fair shake, a flat tax or consumption tax. And every person to be held responsible for their own actions, quit relying on the gov't and blamming others for their actions and problems.

"Those getting slammed with high taxes" is code for upper income. "Quit relying on the government" is code for poor black people.

Honestly, the TPers fool no one as to their self interest. I mean, I don't fault them for that. People belong to organizations that tout their interests. I do think, however, that its inaccurate to portray them as interested in anything but themsevles.
