This up tempo offense thing might help for the first couple of years.

But, your kidding yourself if you think coaches and DC wont figure out a way to counter it or won't get their players ready for it.

See Stanford for an example.
You mean "see USC" who hasn't been able to figure it out much.....despite stellar recruiting classes and being loaded with 5* talent, year after year. Stanford has thrown a monkey wrench into that whole conference's traditions.

Didn't Saban specifically say that teams would look to run fast-paced, no-huddle offenses against them this year at Media Days and that he specifically spent a lot of time preparing for them? (Pretty much b/c of A&M I suppose.)

USC has Lane Kiffin as a coach, he can't even figure out how to beat the Triple option. (Ga Tech)

Your argument is invalid.

What is the relevance of comparing one group of players on one team to another group of players from another team in a different year? You can't even compare Tenn from one year to the next. How about Tenn from 2007 to 2008? Auburn from 2010 to 2011 or 2012?

Most great coaches don't stray from their philosophy. The ideas that Jones built cincy with will emerge again at UT. Only an idiot would go against what worked for them.

That was one of the few games where he had Bray, Hunter, and Rogers healthy. DD is a lot better coach then people give him credit. People act like he went 1-11 for three years straight. If it wasn't for Sal, I honestly believe we would of beat Georgia, Mizoo, Miss. St., USCjr. and Vandy. We would of went 10-2 last year, maybe 9-3.

fwiw, I'm glad DD didn't win those games. I truly believe we are in better hands now. Just sayin....

I agree with that. Much like Fulmer being fired...sometimes things have to get really bad before they can get much better. If Hamilton had hired Gary Patterson the first time around...instead of Kiffin, we'd be in a much better position today.

Hiring 2 HC's with losing records made it hard to recruit, not to mention a horrible idea for a (historically speaking) premiere SEC program.

The thought of DD at the helm this year without Hunter, Bray, and CP is terrifying. Plus, our recruiting class would probably have 7 commitments: one 4*, three 3*s, and three 2*s. Hurd would be a Vandy commit, TK Jr would be at Alabama, and Bates would be a Gator.

Oh, and last year's class would have finished #54th.
