Of the three games in Oct, who scares the most, # win, # lose?

Yep, all 3 are winnable, all 3 are losable.
Indeed. I'd take any combination of 2-1 in the next 3. You know we won't get a fair call from the zebras in Tuscaloosa. UK is just laying in wait with an off week before we play them and that's coming off the bama game. aTm might be our best shot at a win. Lose at home to the aggies and we could be looking at 0-3. On the bright side, if that were to happen, the future would likely be now because one would think there'd be a real youth movement starting with Nico for the remainder of the season.

2 out of three seems most realistic. Bama on the road is going to be tough just like SC. coming to UT expecting to win after they thwarted us last year.

Being 6-2 at the end of October would be excellent.

If I had to choose, I'd pick the road wins at UK and Bama.

Disagree. We need Neyland to get back to being the home advantage it used to be, with teams dreading playing there.

Besides, I'm making my first trip back to K-Town in 40 years for the A&M game.

At this point in the Heupel tenure there is no "bright side" to losing three straight games and being 4-4. Recruiting is on fire, and UT football hasn't been this relevant in 20 years. Killing the momentum we've built up over two years to experiment with kids whose time will come would be a catastrophe.

Damn, I wish everyone would stop with Nico. Let this thing play out as it should, and the kid get his body in shape for SEC football while learning the system inside out. Throwing him in the middle of a lost season is a recipe for disaster.

We don't scare easily 'round here.

Go Vols!

Right. It’s just on the road in front of loud crowds that we don’t seem to do so well. Sorry…I am allowed one or two negavol moments per season. This is my first (published, that is.)

Bama, because it is on the road. We might have a good shot with Georgia IF we play our "A" game.

Bama on the road is easily the toughest, I don't like playing A&M after a tough loss, think matchup wise, we should be ok against UK.

1.5-1.5 is what should be expected realistically, hope we go 2-1

B***

Last year, the Vols gained 182 yards rushing against B*** while allowing them only 114. Both teams were slinging it through the air, the Pachyderms for 455 and the Vols for 385.

Through the first games of this season, I’ve not seen evidence to support the contention that the 2023 Crimson Curse is going to shut down the 2023 Vols running game. I’ve seen nothing to induce me to believe that these ill hued Alabamians are capable of grounding the Vols aerial assault.

If you’re experiencing deep quivers of doubt, it’s rooted in the fear that Tennessee will have another Florida moment. I do not share your fear. Our 2023 Vols are capable of defeating the 2023 Tide Pods in their washing machine. You may elect to anticipate the match with trepidation. I look towards it with hope. WTFA, Vols!

Right now they all do. A win against A&M with continued improvement would do a lot to restore my confidence after the UF loss. SC just isn't a good enough team to relieve my BVS completely.

Kentucky has exhibited nothing to make me believe that they will defeat the Vols this month. If you foresee an inevitable failure for the Big Orange, you have my pity. WTFA, Vols!

Nothing would help our Bama hopes more than if we exhibit a successful medium and long passing game against A&M this Saturday.

Then Bama would have to prepare an all-field defensive game plan against us, and our running game would get the full benefit of our wide splits.

It's got to be the bama game, mostly because it's in bama.

I know we travel to KY too, but after seeing them being slapped around by uga, they will be in the fetal position when we get there. :)

They will be up for the Vols, whatever their record. For them, beating Tennessee matters. Hopefully, the Vols will be too much for them. I’m a hopeful Tennessee alum. WTFA!

On any given Saturday, the Vols are capable of victory. They can win out October. CJH will have them focused on each game, each opponent at hand. GBO.

Every scribbler and talking head covering CFB wants the Vols to win every game leading up to Georgia’s visit to Neyland. They expect Georgia to be undefeated, and it will build anticipation with each Tennessee victory. It will make for an epic opportunity to blather before, during, and after, whatever the outcome. Job security. Vols fans truly wish the same, but for our own reasons. GBO.
