Let me preface this by saying that I am never "fire the coach " guy, however...

As the season winds down, we know that in a month or less, there will be some shakeup on coaching staff.

I am always interested by who is on the market and what are the sexy names floating around at seasons end. Who would you want to replace and with whom? You always know that coaching staffs shift and evolve over time, where could we improve?

I have a feeling that Zach Arnett will be a guy that a lot of people will clamor for. What says you all?

Yeah I think the only changes that happen are if any of the coaches decide to take another job that would be a promotion for them and/or more money.

I do have to admit that I do enjoy a good coach search, but I’m not looking for one now or in the near future.

My concern is:

1. Secondary play. Chief told me yrs ago that some DCs coach players to “look” @ the WR’s eyes instead of turning around. Either way, our DBs are bad and not getting better.

2. Penalties - it’s a problem. At some point, it comes down to holding. I listened to Mike Tomlin’s interview on a podcast recently. He said coaches teach their players, both college and pro, when you can get away with grabbing the jersey, etc. If penalties are called, then the coaches will adjust to how the game is called. Something isn’t right as too many penalties.

3. Players- most of our roster are Pruitt’s players. I am hopeful Heup’s players will be ready for the big stage as we will find out next season.

Can anyone on VN say unequivocally without a doubt who calls our offensive plays each series of each game?

That person, needs some schooling, IMO, on how better to call plays to our strengths and weaknesses. Too many calls this year were just plane ol WRONG.

I say Josh Heupel is not known for firing coaches so I will be really surprised if that happens... he is loyal to his staff....

There is always a chance that a coach or two may depart for other jobs but hearing zero of that happening at this point...

Yea most are Pruitt’s players but they have spent the majority of their careers playing for Heupel.
