I think there’s some truth here. We still strike out way too much and has been discussed, the situational hitting is putrid.

We didn’t take advantage today. We have to make hay against teams like UGA.

The top 4 or 5 pitching staffs in this league will push our **** in as it stands now.

We batted .176 today and left 7 on base.

You and I have two different definitions of what good offense is. Having to go to extras against etsu in the midweek to get to a respectable amount of runs isn’t swinging it well . (6runs)

failing to reach 5 runs twice against a very average Georgia pitching team isn’t swinging it well either.

this team is 11th in the SEC in BA and 12th in slugging. The slugging stat is awful considering Lindsey nelson is very much a slugging park.


this team is going to be just fine being led by pitching and got very lucky they aren’t playing two top 5 series this season in the SEC in the Miss schools. That lucky draw should be enough to get them a regional host but this offense is very suspect

It makes no sense having a starting outfielder - this far along in the season - batting a buck seventy. There HAS to be 3 or 4 prospects on the bench who can play OF and put the bat on the ball.

They were struggling no doubt up until the Greensboro series. They have came on since. Scoring 9 runs against ETSU (3 came in extras) I don’t think is bad at all. The track record of these guys doesn’t have me worried. It will keep on going up. Lot of season left.

Something must have changed in your eyes. You now say they could be a regional host. You had dim predictions a few weeks ago as you had them pegged in the bottom half of the SEC.

look at my Post nothing has changed in my mind. I told this board tenn would be a .500 team a few weeks back and one poster said he’d run naked across country if I was correct


the schedule is very easy(by SEC standards) and staying away from miss and miss state should be enough to host a regional. I think this team finishes in the bottom half of the league but the pitching is still so good I think that wIll stoop he good enough to host: a better offense and this team might be a National seed with this lighter schedule

You realize Eastern Kentucky went 2 & 3 against 2 teams ranked ahead of us.

Beat both Georgia Tech & Louisville this year, they are not what I would categorize as a bad team.

any ovc team is a bad team compared to any sec team

but to add to that they 8-11 and 3-3 in that league

Georgia Tech and Louisville are highly overrated and we should be ahead of them in all the major polls.

I can roll with that, but the more likely scenario is that Eastern Kentucky is a very solid mid major team that just doesn’t have the depth that Power 5’s do.

They beat South Carolina but no they aren’t good

I never said they were good, only that they aren’t bad.

Show me a bad team with 2 wins against Top Ten opponents. Don’t be cute either.

You won’t find it because it does not happen.
Sure a bad team can beat a good team 1 time but not 2 Top Ten teams. Arms matter and just because a team doesn’t have the arms to compete on a daily basis with Power 5s does not mean said team is bad.

Bottom line is this... If a team has 2 arms that can and have beaten two of the very best teams in the country then they are far from bad. UTM and Davidson have not beaten 1 Top Ten club much less 2.

Are they great? NO
Are they decent? YES
Are they bad? HELL NO

Look you don’t judge college baseball teams by single games. You judge their body of work. If you used single games you’d never get anywhere considering a team like EKU lost twice to Presbyterian who is 2-8. EKU is the only team that awful team has beaten.

Look at the overall body of work and their league records if you want to see how good a team is

Wouldn’t mind seeing Booker get a start or 2 in the outfield, or see if Lipscomb can play out there.

but yea you missed the exact point and I’m not surprised. You cant intelligently judge single games to find a teams value. If you could that awful Presbyterian team beating your EKU team twice for their only two wins of the year would make your thinking look even dumber
