Not sure since I thought CBJ liked to run the read option but the 2016 QB commit is another pocket passer. He will either have to adjust to his players or put a square peg in a round hole.

Actually it's a hybrid Spread/Pro-Style West Coast Read-Option with some power run, wildcat and triple sundae option looks also.

Source: I play NCAA 2013 and I've watched a lot of player interviews. I consider myself an expert.

I like all that you said. To be more specific :

- A layered read west coast passing attack with layered reads
- a power running game
- a TE dependent offense ( see NE Patriots ) that features more hybrid H-back sorts that double as fullbacks and that can split out

So how can it be a power out of the spread ? There are more blockers at the point of attack than defenders.
Unlike the Oregon 'spread' which is predicated off the zone read and option play ...our offense will be predicated off the HB Dive with the QB run simply being a counter to keep the mystical E gap accounted for. Done look for the QB keepers.

All 'spreads' are different. The Urban Myer offense is the Wishbone all spread out with the QB playing the duel role of QB and one of the full backs. The Oregon O is predicated off the zone read . Auburn runs the Wing T ..all spread out. Butchs offense can best be described as the I form power running game ..all spread out

Perfectly stated IMO. :hi:

I heard a guy the other day call it a Dive offense that makes it impossible to load the box against defensively.

I don't care what you name the offense, if Worley never keeps the ball, the defense swarms the RB, rendering the read option pointless.

This is our second year. Last year our opponents didn't really get a taste of our offense. This year they will have a better idea.

I've always been skeptical about our playcalling and our offense.

The style doesn't change much. I looked at the Cincy/Duke bowl game and it just worries me.

Thoughts?

It blows

If we have a QB that takes it around the end and and is a productive pro style QB >>> teams are gonna start punishing him even when he doesn't have the ball.

The play is not gonna be swarm to the ball the play is gonna be if you have your sights on the QB hit him.

Consistent, up tempo, snap and clear, efficient with skilled individuals

Every offense in the country wants to be efficient, skilled and control the tempo.

Our basic offensive scheme is a west coast offense thrown into a shotgun package. We will use the run game and short passing game to set up the deep ball.

He runs a spread O with elements of the west coast O. it isn't a read option O but he wants to QB to pull it often enough to keep D's honest.

It isn't my favorite style of O but I LOVE that he's an execution focused coach rather than a coach that tries to trick opponents or "throw it all at them and see what sticks"... like Fulmer.
