I believe the Vols have only 3 offensive linemen currently committed.

Who, if any, can or do play tackle?

Do you feel UT is done recruiting OL even though UT is most deficient across the line? The obvious MOST in position needs..............

Wouldn't you think that the staff will look to let some current recruits "look elsewhere" so they can sign 6 or 7 offensive linemen?

Stewart, Jones, Hall, Boulware so far.

If they can get Richmond or Sweet I think they will try.

4 in a class is not that bad. Especially if 3 of the 4 could possibly end up at OT.

Normally I would say 4 is plenty but our deficiencies on the OL are glaring. How many commitments do we have now? 25 or 26? I'm happy we got a good CB but OL should be priority number 1 right now. Out of 26 we should have at least 6 or 7 o- lineman. Dooley ignored OL recruiting and look at where we are now. Games are won in the trenches.

So you want to recruit more O Lineman than we have committed? So we could possibly play more freshman's

They will be fine, this years Lineman will be a year older and more experienced and we will have younger players that will be able to learn as they get stronger.

Take a Break CBJ has got this, and he takes his job seriously.

Is Lovingood not a Lineman? I know he's a longsnapper, but he plays line too doesn't he?

Rarely do OL recruits come in and make an immediate impact. Richmond is probably an exception, but he would still be a true freshman playing in the SEC. The only thing that's going to cure our OL issues is time, unfortunately.

I'm not just talking about next year. I'm talking about the long term. No reason why we shouldn't make room for 2 or 3 more lineman, and I think Butch will if he finds the guys he wants.

Would be nice if there was a good tackle or two that would have graduated from their respective colleges and still have another year of eligibility.

All four are listed as OT's for their position. May have Charles Mosley for the OL, too, if he heals well, but he'll start out at DT. At least that was the plan this year until he broke his leg in that auto accident. I believe he's been predicted to be an OG on that side of the ball, and that could be his best overall position long term.

Hall with a very serious, possibly football ending injury is concerning too.

(1) Blair will red shirt this season (2) Jack will be a freshman next year (3) Zack will be a freshman next year (4) Might be able to steal Richmond from Ole Piss

Devoplomental Position (CBJ), need a big guy with brains and braun, gap assignments are not easy to do your first year, 2+ to become productive. I see UT going after some JuCO, but they are being very picky.

Absolutely not. The 4 currently committed are quality recruits. They will be significant contributors, although they may need a year to grow and develop. Hall for sure will need a redshirt year to finish his rehab from Achilles surgery and get the strength back into his legs.

The critical need for OL is based on shear numbers. My opinion is that we need a minimum to 6 or 7 in the 2015 class. Richmond, Sweet, Allen, and Burrell will all help our level of talent and depth. OTs Richmond and Sweet. OT/OG Allen. OG Burrell. I think that is how they project position wise. Wish we could get them all, but that won't happen.

2015 isn't looking much brighter for our OL unless we can add a prospect who projects as a true LT one day. Maybe (hopefully) we already have that guy in Jackson (though even ifh at is the case, he'll need at least RS year before he can take over there). If we don't add another OT, then you've got to hope that one or more (hopefully at least 2) of the following happens:

1. Blair comes on in a big way and allows one of Thomas/Kerbyson to move inside.

2. One or two of Stewart/Jones/Boulware proves the evaluators wrong and turns out to be an OT all the way.

3. Charles Mosley loses weight, quickens up his feet, and turns out to be surprisingly good OT given his length and brute strength.

4. Kendrick steps up and claims a spot.

5. Coleman Thomas improves vastly at OT over the offseason.

Personally, my dream scenario given we aren't able to flip Richmond is a combination of 1 and 3. A starting 5 of Blair/Jackson/(Thomas or Wiesman)/Kerbyson/Mosley could give Hurd and Kamara some big running lanes.

I may be the bad guy saying this but I believe hall will be recruited over this class don't have the ability to take him with the injury to much risk
