Exactly. They don't give 2 squirts so why should I. Serrano isn't the answer. Not sure how he did what he did out west, but he's a strike out looking here in east TN. I'd be looking for another coach the moment his buyout expires. I sure as hell wouldn't extend his contract.

Some postgame comments, tried to jot down as much as I could, but I missed some...

CDS: "Bad weekend for Vol Baseball"

CDS "...we deserved to be swept"

CDS: Makes the challenge more difficult, the team is disappointed, we've put ourselves in a hole, we've made it tougher on ourselves"

CDS: "35 opportunities to right the first 20"

CDS: "I take responsibility for the team not being where it needs to be..."

CDS: Hunter moved ahead of some people today"

CDS: "We act like we've never run bases...we aren't showing good instincts"

Zach Warren will get the start versus Cinci...

Yes it's very possible, or we're having that slump at the worst possible time.

It was a miserable weekend at least I still got Secrets and Lies tonight.
Also first rate licorice at Trader Joes the Darrel Lea Australian Cherry kind I can buy to eat after working out at the gym.

Glad he's taking "responsibility", but it still sounds like coach speak. This is his roster. He should have this team playing better baseball. Just embarrassing and inexcusable. Words are cheap. If I'm the AD, I give him 1 more year. If it's more of the same, I send him packing. Don't give 2 cents for his talk. Show me some damned results.

I'm as disappointed as anyone here I reckon. This is the most talented team he's had since he's been here even with Cox and Martin being slowed by injury.

I expected we'd have some trouble at 2B and 3B defensively but not like this. I expected we'd struggle to replace some of our offensive production, but not like this.

The base running stuff is out of the blue, I mean we've always been aggressive, but it's never been like this...

Still onboard though, just the way I am.

I can understand all the new people who may post on these threads when you're winning, but who are all the goofballs that come out of the woodwork when we're losing?

There has to be some sort of psychological term for this phenomena

Or the goofballs care and voice their frustration. Beating Georgia was expected, getting swept is inexcusable.

Yep, as it was happening during the game I thought it was a strategic thing, but clearly CDS was making the change which is unusual because he's pretty hands off the offense...these are the details he talks about and it explains why Langhorne isn't the starter at 3B, because defensively he's the best guy.

I've been on these boards for years under different handles. I try to stay level headed and keep my comments to myself for the most part especially when things aren't going well, but this is beyond belief. I'm angry and disappointed just like the team and staff I'm sure. Still, there's no way to sugar coat what we're seeing. There's no explanation or excuse. I'm still hoping for a turn around. The decision isn't mine, but if next year is more of the same, it's time for a change.

This team committed 7 errors yesterday, including one where the third baseman tagged the base and not the runner when it was not a force out. Today, a player was picked off second base because he was not paying attention to the game, his second time for that. Also, when a Ga. player stole second, the 2B and SS did not not get him because they were not sure who was to cover the base. These are fundamental baseball plays, and these mistakes are directly because of the coaching staff. Unfortunately, the two starting pitchers may be better than we have had in a long time, but it isn't much help when the team continually makes fundamental mistakes in the field. The hitting is not very consistent, either. I thought Serrano would bring the team back, but when you can't play fundamental baseball, this is a coaching problem. If there is not major improvement in this area during this season, it will be time to make a change at the end of the year.

You ever go to the basketball forum? It's the same thing only way worse. People who never post show up to say how much UT sucks and to "break out the black curtains" and of course "Bring back Bruce."
