Offical Roster Weight Update

Anybody else notice that Dobbs outweighs Ferguson by 15 lbs? I don't understand the ridiculous Volnation hype for a QB who is objectively smaller, slower and less experienced than the better-ranked prospect from his own recruiting class. I'm not ruling out the possibility that Ferguson might be the next Drew Brees or something crazy, but I'm not holding my breath.

I don't have a clue who the QB is for next season, but none of the Fergie hype has been related to his running or weight but instead to his arm strength. If you recall, the string bean freshman Bray could throw bullets when he showed up on campus. There appears to be no correlation between arm strength and weight.

I wonder if the OP truely has accurate information. When the QB's were standing next to each other last season, Worley appeared more than 1" taller than the others? Sure would like to see JRM add about 10 more lbs along with Vereen.

Ferguson is actually about as fast as Dobbs as far as straight line speed goes (though Dobbs has better wiggle for a QB).

And most of the ferguson hype has to do more with his swagger, history as a winner, and arm strength than any rankings or measurables.

Is this official?

It has Neiko Creamer listed as a LB - Interesting!

Although our line will be young, they are BIG BOYS!

I guess that means the coaching staff is confident in the TE Group.

80 Daniel Helm TE 6-4 232 FR Chatham, Ill./Glenwood

84 Woody Quinn TE 6-6 253 SR Dana Point, Calif./St. Margaret's/Pepperdine/Santa Ana College

85 Brendan Downs TE 6-5 228 SR Bristol, Tenn./Tennessee

86 A.J. Branisel TE 6-4 224 SO South Euclid, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin School

88 Ethan Wolf TE 6-5 243 FR Minster, Ohio/Minster

about as accurate as you can be other than measuring them yourself.

If true then Moseley came on campus at 145.
L Lewis who was said to have gained 40 pds. was a whopping 215. That makes no sense.

I like seeing Jason Carr at 290, he's going to have to play big minutes at DT this year.

I've heard this before, but as I'm unaware of a measurement for "wiggle" and Fergie's not made it into a game yet to display his "wiggle", on what is this opinion founded.

I think he was defining "wiggle" as running ability, hence, Worley has more "wiggle" than Worley cause he's a better runner...

Worley 19 rushes 56 yards 2.95 avg 0 tds 13 long

Dobbs 38rushes 189yards 4.98 avg1 td 40 long

I've watched Worley and Dobbs - I don't need any stats or 40 times to know Dobbs is the more effective runner.

None of us have seen Fergie on college game day. He has a similar 40 time listed to Dobbs. Why is it assumed Dobbs has more "wiggle"? Is it because of his tan or is there some legit data out there to support Dobbs being a better runner than Fergie?

Ahhhh, gotcha. Went back and read original post you responded to stating that Dobbs has more "wiggle" than Fergie. My bad, obviously thought the comparison was between Dobbs and Worley. With you at this point.... no way to compare Dobbs and Fergie and doing so can only be speculation based on "certain assumptions" which would be wrong to do.

Hurd at 211 lbs seems weird.

Last Summer he was supposedly at 232 lbs.

Working out should mean more muscle and muscle weighs more than fat so I would have thought he would have gained some weight rather than losing 11 pounds.

With his speed and quick feet I was hoping he would start the season at 235 to 240 lbs and be able to run over some guys to break free.

I'm hoping he turns into Eddie George 2.0 because we need a powerful bruiser RB.

There's actually a hue debate in the recruiting thread right now about this. Some are claiming he lost weight because he's down to 5% or less body fat. Some are calling BS. It's quite the hissy fit in his thread ATM.
