What is with this guy and his phony seals. Now he has one that says "Office of the President Elect" on the podium.

No big deal but looks screwy to me.

I'm guessing he's made a lot of signs for himself throughout his life.

Yeah, sucks that he is out there holding three press conferences in three days announcing bipartisan picks to help deal with the economic crisis, appointing people universally heralded as competent to key financial posts, and doing it all in such a way as to calm the markets and show stability and smart policy coming.

Stupid attention whore!

My point is the stupid seal. What's the point of having it?

I guess the seal is goofy. But I also don't particularly care about it. Seems kind of petty to harangue him for it.

Confess I do not know a ton about the people he's appointing but I keep seeing Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich on tv going "That guy is good. Yep, she's good, too. Like him ...." etc etc.

bipartisan? today he commented that the only reason why he selected so many clinton appointees was because they were the only democrats with any experience. ummm barack there are non democrats with experience.

I think his graphic artist team member is trying to make a statement. I wonder of Obama even knows what it looks like?

the only thing obama can do to calm the markets is lower persona taxes, create a lower corporate tax rate, and reduce government spending.
doubt he does any of that though.

Dr. Oski, what are your opinions on the folks he has picked? Seriously, I don't know much if anything about them and am wondering what someone in the biz thinks of his selections.

very solid picks particurally Geithner. i'm not a fan of romer at all though. i think that the market rally recently has a lot to do with relief that he didn't appoint some radical lefts, but let's not delude ourselves, they are definetly left.

That seems to be the concensus of the talking heads on tv. Thanks for the input.

Given how the markets have reacted to his taking the reigns and appointing people that folks can live with, and add on top of that the citi bailout, I guess you'd have to pretty much say that his audacity is a welcome relief from the goober technically running the show at the moment.

the market didn't bounce in a positive direction until the Geithner pick was leaked.

also, if you were one of those who claimed the huge market collapse after Nov. 4th wasn't Obama's fault, you can't now come in and claim that the current rebound is because of Obama's center-right economic team picks.

Actually, sure you can. Seriously, read your argument again. It is illogical.
