Official “Jimbo Fisher Has been fired watch thread”

I think the biggest flaw for Jimbo is his recruiting strategy. He needs to find kids that want to play for TAMU instead of just the NIL.
This is similar to the way Jackie Sherrill recruited the Junior Colleges at Miss State it ended in disaster and that seems to be happening to Jimbo with NILs.

They're not going to can him. Didn't he just do a "new" 10 year contract a year or two ago to replace the original one?

At least in the Dallas area, what I have seen to far is that they are displeased but they know they are stuck at least for a few years.

Now, they do a total faceplant like Florida did last year and finish 5-7 or something then all bets are off. The Aggies will end up at 8-4 and while there will be some grumblings, his job is safe.

I do however think that if given the opportunity to do a Pruitt style ousting the Aggies would jump at the chance so Jimbo better be running a tight ship.
This! I think UT has laid out the game plan for other AD’s who’ve made a bad hire and want out without paying an embarrassing buy out. If you’re a crappy coach you better make sure your squeaky clean

Jimbo is laughing all the way to the bank.

Whoever negotiated his contract should be fired on the spot.

I believe he has a guaranteed 95 million dollar contract. If they fire him at the end of the season, they still owe him 86 million dollars....

If I were a big time booster, no way would I give MY money to make that idiot as rich or richer than me.

Don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon. A&M made a poor decision and I hope they have to deal with it for the majority of the next decade.

Edit to add Jimbo's actual buyout:
  • 2022: $85,950,000
  • 2023: $76,800,000
  • 2024: $67,550,000
  • 2025: $58,200,000
  • 2026: $48,750,000
  • 2027: $39,200,000
  • 2028: $29,550,000
  • 2029: $19,800,000
  • 2030: $9,950,000
Insane.

Multiple Choice pop quiz:

Texas A&M is…

A) Screwed

B) Insane

C) Needs to take a class on contract negotiatons

D) All of the above

Jimbo has been absolutely terrible at A&M. For whatever reason you thought you had an argument to the contrary.

Pretty sure that’s exactly who Jimbo’s agent is. He is a master at his craft. Gotten a lot of bad coaches (and himself) a lot of money.
I think he has Taggart also. So he screwed TAMU and FSU in the same off-season.

That post game press conference. He took offense to the suggestion that Bryce Young not playing made a difference. I get what he is saying he had injuries too. However if you cant acknowledge that having the defending Heisman qb on the field in place of a totally different style qb with minimal experience is a huge advantage then you are clueless. Sounded like hasnt finished the sour grapes he had since Saban made that comment about A&Ms recruiting class and he went ballistic.
LOL at the thought that any second string player at Bama makes that much of a difference. Half that team would start anywhere else in the SEC and you know it.

Uhhh the playoffs they couldn't replace John Metchie and Jameson Williams.

More importantly you haven't watched their offense when Bryce Young went out last week against Arkansas and this week not playing against A&M. Milroe does not protect the football and does not have the vertical passing game ability that Young has. The commentators in Bamas game against Arkansas tried to pass off Milroe being more like Jalen Hurts style of running the offense. Not even close. I agree with you alot of spots Bama can plug and play but the qb drop off is monstrous between Young and Milroe.
