Official 2017 NFL Playoffs thread

Because unlike the Jake Delhomme-led Carolina Panthers, these Falcons clearly aren't very good.

Because just like the Panthers, the Falcons are losers and the Patriots are winners. Patriots have a damn good defense (#1 in scoring) and some weapons of their own. But hey, they play the game for a reason. But, I'm taking the over.

Was hoping for the +5-6 for the Falcons..........think I'll play a little of the man's money on Falcons +3 and the over.

The Patriots wide receivers are so unbelievably open all the time.

Are these the worst playoffs ever? There have been 2 good games.

This will be the third time in the past four years that the #1 scoring offense will play the #1 scoring defense in the Super Bowl. The defenses dominated the previous two.

I do think the Patriots defense is good, but I don't think they are as dominant as Seattle or Denver during their runs.

Thanks for everyone's input regarding my question about 300 level seating in the Dome. First row was perfect for us, so I plan to sit there again. Just wish I could afford to go to Houston!

In case any of you here know him

David Clary is a pillar of the community in Oak Ridge and has given so much of his life to ORHS sports. If you know Dave, he's probably impressed you in some way and I bet he's probably done something nice for you.

Dave has been a lifelong Falcons fan, die hard through all the bad years. Please give back and help send Dave to the Super Bowl.

Being from Oak Ridge, I know him and actually helped him do video for OR football games one season about 15 years ago. Super nice guy, hope he gets to go.

Please share with your OR peeps. I'm gonna feel really bad if I started this and he doesn't raise much money. I got a hold of boosters and trying to spread the word, but I haven't lived in OR for 20 years.

Dave has given blood, sweat, tears, and money he doesn't really have to the community. I just need to get the gofundme page in front of people that know that about him.

Of course the conversation today is about Brady vs Montana. To me, Brady has surpassed Montana, no question. Montana's only real claim to the GOAT convo is that he was such a great winner but Brady is the greatest winner by a long shot, now. I don't think Montana can be in the GOAT convo anymore.

I'll mention it to some other folks who might know him, but honestly I'm not all that well connected with a lot of people still living in OR and I haven't lived there for the better part of a decade.

Someone should have told the Seahawks they were "losers" before they obliterated Denver.

The GOAT conversation for an NFL QB cannot be argued with any logic. I used to think it could but in all honesty, it cant. Different eras, different rules. In Montanas day, defenses could maul offensive players. DL could take QBS heads off with no worries. DBs could take WRs heads off. Brady has actually had rules created for him in the NFL. Also, Montana has never been involved with as many cheating allegations as Brady. In todays NFL, the game is much more tailored to the offense. Still, one cannot take away Bradys talents and accomplishments.

But to argue that Brady or Montana is the GOAT is ridiculous. Both are HOF QBs that are some of the greatest NFL players ever.

I think measuring QB success with rings is the stupidest argument in all of sports related discussions.

"With the Falcons victory yesterday, the NFC South becomes the first division since realignment (2002) to send all 4 teams to the Super Bowl."

Pretty surprising considering how many people have considered it a bad division recently.

It's definitely part of the conversation but it's not the only part of the conversation. To me, it's

Brady, Manning, Elway, Marino, or Unitas.

My point is that you can no longer really make a case for Montana...he very well might be better than Manning but Manning vs Brady is conversation. Montana vs Brady is no longer a conversation so he's entirely out of the running.
