Official 2017 Summer Baseball Thread

Pete Derkay had a hot time at the plate last night...he was 2 for 3 with a double and a home run...3 RBI's...1 BB...

Richard Jackson has pitched 14 innings in relief, he has yet to give up a run...

I jinxed Jackson yesterday, gave up his first run last night.

AHC is having a pretty rough summer.

Luc Lipcius is 1st in the Valley League with 4 HR, 2nd in RBI and BA...having a good summer.

Prospect Rundown: Valley League
SUMMER BASEBALL Aaron Fitt - July 18, 2017

• A pair of rising sophomores at Tennessee look like future difference makers for the Vols. Luc Lipcius is a physical 6-foot-2, 215-pound lefthanded-hitting corner bat with raw power that he’s still learning to harness. He drew a couple of walks on the weekend and hit a game-tying RBI single up the middle against the Ripken League. After a modest freshman year, Lipcius is hitting .330/.439/.534 for Front Royal this summer. Jay Charleston is a completely different kind of player — a 5-foot-10, 170-pound speed merchant who got up the line in 3.85 seconds from the right side on a bunt. He’s a live-bodied athlete with quick hands and a nice line drive swing at the plate, and he showed off very good instincts and range in the outfield.

I've noticed Darling hasn't pitched since June 20th. He was having a great summer before that. Also, Neely has barely thrown in the Cape, but I haven't seen anything saying he was released.

AHC had his first good extended outing. 5ip 0ER 4K

Brought his ERA all the way down to 8.88.

Old, but Luc L. in his team all-star picture.

Neely threw a scoreless inning for Wareham today. He has a 2.79ERA in about 10ip at the Cape.

looks like a decent summer for most of the Vols....hopefully everyone got in the work needed and comes back healthy for fall.

Neely threw a scoreless inning last night and has his ERA down to 2.31.

Chinea is hitting .571 in the ABL Championship. He has a 3 game hit streak.

Richard Jackson is 3-2 on the summer with 9 saves.
His last appearance was not good so it caused his ERA to bump to 2.28. He has 2 postseason saves and 1 postseason loss.

AHC had another good start in the Texas League. 6.2ip 2R 2ER with a No-Decision. His ERA is 8.27.

Heflin's last start was a good one. 7ip 1R and a win. He also hit .333 in 12AB this summer with a HR.

I think Charleston is done for the summer. .251 avg with 42K and 42SB.
