Prospect Rundown: Valley League
SUMMER BASEBALL Aaron Fitt - July 18, 2017
A pair of rising sophomores at Tennessee look like future difference makers for the Vols. Luc Lipcius is a physical 6-foot-2, 215-pound lefthanded-hitting corner bat with raw power that hes still learning to harness. He drew a couple of walks on the weekend and hit a game-tying RBI single up the middle against the Ripken League. After a modest freshman year, Lipcius is hitting .330/.439/.534 for Front Royal this summer. Jay Charleston is a completely different kind of player a 5-foot-10, 170-pound speed merchant who got up the line in 3.85 seconds from the right side on a bunt. Hes a live-bodied athlete with quick hands and a nice line drive swing at the plate, and he showed off very good instincts and range in the outfield.
